What exactly happened at Bishopsgate?
According to reports from the police, there was an incident that resulted in three people being stabbed, one person being thrown to the ground, and three people being taken to the hospital; however, the incident is not believed to be terrorism-related. The attack took place at 9:46 in the morning, and the City of London police arrived at the scene at 9:51.
At 9.46am, we were made aware of three stabbings and a person being pushed to the ground in Bishopsgate, and officers arrived at the scene at 9.51am. Local emergency services sent three individuals to an adjacent medical facility for treatment.
This is an ongoing incident, but authorities are not treating it as terrorism-related.

Emergency services were called just before 10am to reports that a number of people had been injured near Liverpool Street Station in Bishopsgate. The London Ambulance Service (LAS) arrived at the scene, and the surrounding area was cordoned off by police.

Crews from the London Ambulance Service said, “We were contacted at 9.52 this morning to reports of a stabbing in the Bishopsgate area.” Resources include our Tactical Response Unit in addition to three ambulance crews, two advanced paramedics, two incident response police, and our Tactical Response Unit. Our staff saw 4 patients. Three people were admitted to the hospital, and one person was allowed to go home. The London Ambulance Service (LAS) arrived at the scene, and the surrounding area was cordoned off by police.
No arrests have been made so far, and police are still searching for the thief. The news of the stabbing was relayed to a traffic marshal working nearby via his walkie-talkie, and he rushed to the location when he heard it. The incident caused widespread panic among the general population.

The mayor made the following statement: “The good news is that this was not a terrorist attack.
“This is a stark warning about the danger of carrying a knife to the public across the country. We are not complacent in any way despite the fact that we have seen an increase in knife crime injuries across our country than a more big fall like we saw in London.
“I believe it is absolutely necessary to take a tough stance against crime, invest in policing, and stand up against the complex causes of crime, invest in young people and work in the youth sector. No room for complacency, but there has been a drop in the number of injuries caused by knife crimes in London.
