How to Apply for Punjab Driver License Online

If you’re fed up with the hassle of getting a driver’s license in Pakistan, it’s time to step back and relax. The Government of Punjab has recently introduced a new system of Pakistan Information Technology Board (PITB). With the Driving License Issuance and Management System (DLIMS), the PITB has developed a digital strategy for monitoring and issuing driving licenses. Currently, this service is only offered to residents of Punjab.

WHERE CAN I APPLY?

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to apply for a driver’s license online:

  • Go to the DLIMS website and log in to continue.
  • To get the form you need, go to the downloads section.
  • To find your nearest licensing center, go to Licensing Center tab.
  • Please include all required documents with your submission.
  • After 42 days of learning, meet with the licensing authority.
  • Get a passing grade in the first theory test.
  • Finally, take and pass the driving test.

There are some exceptions to this scenario. If you wish to renew a license or obtain a duplicate, you must submit the relevant documentation. Both the driving test and the theory test must be passed. This also applies to applying for a new international license.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:

There is a different type of license, so each request requires an additional requirement. The following documents must be required:

LICENSE FOR LEARNERS:

  • A duplicate of the CNIC
  • A Rs60 ticket can be bought at any post office.
  • Road Traffic Rules and Regulations A code book is maintained by the Traffic Police Department.
  • A doctor’s certificate is required from the age of 50.

Both LTVs and HDTVs have an age limit. HDTVs have a maximum age of 22, while LTVs, motorcycles and bikes have an age restriction of 18.

A PERMANENT LICENSE:

  • A folder containing the application form (A)
  • A valid learner’s license is required. The power of attorney must be valid for at least six weeks.
  • Certified passport photos are required for the medical certificate (x3).
  • A certified copy of the CNIC is attached.
  • A free entry ticket is included in the registration form.
  • Make a deposit of Rs. 100 on a deposit slip.

DRIVING LICENSE RENEWAL:

  • An application form is included in the cover of the file.
  • Passport photos are available.
  • Photos the size of a key (x2).
  • CNIC copy (x2)
  • a driving license (original).
  • A medical certificate is required.
  • The license document states the required fee.

All licenses are renewed every five years. Different fees apply to different vehicle types. Motorbikes have a renewal fee of Rs500 while other LTVS are priced at Rs750. Renewal fees for HDTVs are Rs1000.

INTERNATIONAL LICENSE:

  • A copy of an immaculate driving license

When applying for an international driver’s license, you must bring your original CNIC and your ticket and passport to the license center.

DOUBLE LICENSE:
