I was the heaviest and “didn’t see it”

Kelly Clarkson decided to start taking weight loss drugs when she no longer recognized herself on stage.
The singer shared this confession during Monday’s episode of her eponymous talk show while talking to guest star Whoopi Goldberg about her own transformation.
Clarkson, 42, told the story of how she saw herself performing at The Belasco Theater in New York and realized how many pounds she had gained.
“You know what’s funny? I didn’t see it,” she told Goldberg about her weight at the time.
“We literally watched it. We were at my house in New York and we liked watching it. I wanted to play it, but suddenly I stopped and thought, “Who the hell is this?” I swear to God. This sounds crazy.
The “Because of You” singer admitted that she hadn’t noticed how much weight she had gained until that point. However, she admitted that she never felt “insecure” about it.
“People think, ‘She must not have been happy,'” Clarkson said. “I thought, ‘No, I was happy.’ I just didn’t see it.”
Clarkson added that she “climbed” even when she weighed her heaviest at 203 pounds.
“People assumed, ‘Oh, she must have been unhappy or depressed or something,’ and I said, ‘No, I wasn’t,'” she repeated.
But when Clarkson watched the recording of her concert, she realized her health was in danger.
“She’s about to die,” Clarkson thought when she first realized how much weight she had gained.
Goldberg (68) admitted that she first tried the type II diabetes drug Mounjaro when someone thought she was wearing a fat suit in her film “Till.”
“I was outraged. I thought to myself, “That’s not a fat suit.” It’s me!” – Goldberg said.
“And then I knew,” Goldberg said of needing to trim her waist.
Meanwhile, Clarkson admitted that her doctor encouraged her to use a weight-loss drug to lose weight for “two years.”
“I thought, ‘No, I’m afraid of it, I already have thyroid problems.’ I was scared,” said the “American Idol” alum.
Ultimately, Clarkson decided to seek treatment because “her blood test results had gotten very bad.”
Clarkson has since lost more than 60 pounds thanks to an unspecified drug, which she confirmed was not Ozempic, but something “similar” that “helps break down sugar.”
