Imagine Dragons lead singer Dan Reynolds and wife split up
Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds announced that he and his wife Aja Volkman have split up after more than ten years of marriage.
“I am sorry to say that after many beautiful years, Aja and I broke up” the singer wrote on Twitter on Friday. “Being great parents to our children is our number one priority. Thank you for always supporting us with love and care all these years. “
The ex-couple has four children: 10-year-old daughter Arrow, 5-year-old twin daughters Gia and Coco, and 2-year-old son Valentine.
Reynolds and Volkman got married in 2011.
In early 2018, they revealed that they were planning a divorce.
“After 7 beautiful years, the marriage of Aja and me is over,” rocker then tweeted to his fans. “Our children are still the most important thing in our lives and we will continue to give birth to them with all our love.”
However, later that year, Reynolds revealed that he and Volkman had never filed a divorce, reconciled, and even wrote the song “Bad Liar” together.
Volkman shared an emotional post on Instagram praising her husband.
“I’m proud of you @danreynolds I’m proud of your humility and your ability to show yourself as the child-loving basketball coach of the dad you are,” she gushed. “I know it was a crazy road. It has killed both of us in so many times. Last year we killed each other and now we are rebuilding.
Reynolds formed a popular band in 2008 in Utah after attending Brigham Young University.
The singer “Believer”, raised as a Mormon, previously confessed to regretting the anti-gay message he preached as a missionary.
Reynolds attributed his change of mind to his wife, saying, “She taught me what I already knew in my heart, which is to be gay is beautiful.”
