Williams was known for his acting roles, perhaps most famously for his portrayal of Alan Parrish in the 1995 film Jumanji. Bradley Pierce and Kirsten Dunst both played the main characters in the fantasy adventure film.

During Jumanji’s 20th anniversary in 2020, Pierce recounted how Robin defended him against the film’s executives when he and Dunst were young actors in 1995. an adverse effect on his makeup, which was necessary because his character had turned into a monkey.

Pierce claimed he was having trouble breathing and everyone was exhausted after an eight-day shoot. However, the producers tried to round things off by making the kids work longer than allowed. Bradley noted:

“Kids can only spend a certain amount of time on set. The producers had asked our parents if they were willing to put in some overtime to finish it when they first approached them. Since doing an extra half hour instead of a whole day literally saves $100,000 (£73,000), that’s not uncommon in the industry at all.

After hearing about it, Williams informed the producers, Joe Johnston, and the director that this was not possible. He told them to let everyone go and they would return the following week. No one stood up like the late actor did, according to Bradley, for the cost. He also said that Robin was truly loving, giving, compassionate and protective.
