Early life
Jason Aldine Williams was born on February 28, 1977 in the city of Macon, Georgia. At the age of three, his parents went their separate ways. He was raised by his mother in Macon, Georgia, but during school vacations he traveled to Homestead, Florida to spend time with his father. His father drew guitar chords on notebook paper before he went to work so he could show his son where to place his fingers to play the chords on the guitar. While his father was at work, Jason sat at the kitchen table all day and practiced the guitar. As soon as his father got home, he pulled out his own guitar and the two started playing together. Soon he would be able to sing a song after listening to it only briefly. Early favorites included George Strait’s The Cowboy Rides Away, Hank Williams Jr.’s The Blues Man and Alabama’s My Home’s in Alabama.
The young Aldean was musically supported in his development over the years by both his parents.
