At the end of the episode, Lucy and Stephen have another nasty sex, and then Lucy goes to the bathroom to pee.
He gets really upset when he sees a used condom in the trash while he’s in the bathroom. Early in the episode, Lucy tries to talk to Stephen about this topic, but he tricks her, gives her false information, and then walks away. So, when Lucy finds the used condom at the end of the episode, she’s not too happy, but she doesn’t talk to Stephen about it. Instead, he sleeps with her in his dorm.
In Episode 4 of Tell Me Lies, Bree finally loses her virginity, which is also a big deal. Tim did it. However, he doesn’t feel much from sex, and they soon break up. In the heat of the moment, he almost kissed Drew, but in the end he stopped himself. At the end of the episode, Bree starts talking to Evan, which we know is the start of their relationship, which will lead to their wedding. Tell Me Lies Episode 4 is mostly about sex and the urges that come with it, as the episode’s name suggests. Lucy keeps seeing Stephen, but she’s sure he’s seeing someone else. Even as she tries to get her point across, Stephen is manipulative enough to not let her take the lead and, ultimately, makes her submissive in their sexual relationship.
Lucy is clearly getting more emotional than she should be, and the fourth episode shows this so clearly that you want to yell at her and show her the light. But, unfortunately, viewers can only watch as the strange connection grows.
The relationship between Wrigley and Pippa doesn’t get much screen time in this episode, but it’s still hard to understand how they kept Macy’s death a secret. Bree, our virginal queen, finally ends it too, but her inner turmoil is understandable, and the fact that she can’t really communicate it is relatable.

The fourth episode of Tell Me Lies does a great job of setting up long-term relationships and dynamics. However, it’s disappointing for people reading the book to see that Lucy’s eating disorder isn’t taking center stage. However, if Stephen continues to do things behind the scenes, maybe it will soon show up on the screen.
Lucy’s codependency with Stephen is another thing that needs more explanation, because it’s hard to know what our main character is going through because she’s mostly closed off. We don’t know much more about Lucy than her and Stephen’s friends do, which is annoying. A voiceover can make things clearer so that the audience doesn’t feel disconnected from the main character over time.
The best part of Tell Me Lies Episode 4 is the part about Bree, how she lost her virginity, and how she feels about it. Most mainstream depictions of sex are so outlandish that they miss the point of being relatable. But with Bree’s help, Tell Me Lies shows how frustrating losing your virginity can be and how people feel when they have sex.
Since the third episode ended on a cliffhanger about how Macy’s photos were on Stephen’s computer, this episode should have focused more on that. In this episode, Macy’s death seems like a small thing, which shouldn’t happen because it has a big impact on what happens later in the story. But of course, we have to wait for the big explanation, which is coming soon.

Overall, Episode 4 of Tell Me Lies was well written and put together. It kind of took the focus off of Lucy and put it on Bree, which seemed important. It also showed how Lucy and Stephen’s relationship would be long-term, preparing viewers for something scary and sad. We didn’t drag this episode back and forth between the past and the present, and it would have been really sweet if Evan and Bree’s conversation led to the wedding.
