Rapper JID Musical career of JID 2010–2016: Career beginnings On May 18, 2010, JID began his career with the release of his mixtape titled Cakewalk. At the beginning of that year, he teamed up with EarthGang, Hollywood JB, and JordxnBryant to establish Spillage Village. On June 29, 2011, he released his second mixtape under the title Cakewalk 2.
