The characters of dr. Nick Marsh and Dr. Meredith Gray are first introduced to each other in the medical drama series Grey’s Anatomy, which airs on ABC. Nick Marsh passes out for the first time a few weeks after a kidney transplant. After what feels like an eternity, their paths cross again while Meredith is in Minnesota to meet Dr. to visit David Hamilton. They soon develop a sweet friendship for each other that paves the way for Nick to come to Gray Sloan. Nick and Meredith work together in the final episode of season eighteen to perform a procedure that ultimately has devastating consequences. The outcome of the surgery causes the couple to have a heated argument, and Meredith eventually asks him to move to Minnesota.
Nick moves back to Minnesota but eventually finds his way back to Gray Sloan to receive an organ for his upcoming transplant. After meeting him, Meredith invites him to continue his treatment at the Gray Sloan Memorial. Will he then agree to the same terms? If not, could Nick’s potential return to Minnesota be interpreted as a reference to Scott Speedman’s departure from the show? Let’s discuss what we all think in relation to the subject at hand.
Will Nick Marsh return to Minnesota?
Nick visits Gray Sloan in the nineteenth season premiere to obtain an organ for transplant surgery to take place at his workplace in Minnesota. Meredith confronts Owen and asks if he would be willing to accompany her on her three-part organ transplant. Nick is with her because the procedure is particularly difficult. After the surgery, Meredith urges Nick to continue at Gray Sloan, offering him the role of residency director in exchange for his commitment. Nick is vital to Meredith’s operations at the hospital at the moment as the facility suffers from a severe shortage of staff to fill the vacancies required. To persuade Nick further in her favour, she makes him a tempting offer of money.
As a result of Nick’s assurances that he will consider the proposal, there is a chance that he will focus on completing his stay at Gray Sloan instead of returning to Minnesota. However, his final choice will depend on how likely it is that he can see Meredith again. When it comes time for Meredith to urge Alex to head to Minnesota in the final episode of season eighteen, the remarkable bond they have developed is damaged. Still, there’s no denying that Nick and Meredith do have affection for one another. Meredith’s reaction to learning that Nick is in the hospital and her efforts to visit and spend time with him there are clear signs of how much she desires to get back together with Nick.
If Meredith manages to convince Nick that she is trying to restore their relationship, it is possible that Nick will decide against traveling to Minnesota to stay in Gray Sloan and share his life with Meredith. The fact that Nick has stated that he will consider Meredith’s offer shows that he is ready to take it up. In the event that this is not the case, Nick may ask Meredith to complete the move to Minnesota as she initially planned. It’s possible Nick and Meredith will move to Minnesota together once they get engaged. Does this mean Scott Speedman won’t be returning to medical drama? Let’s find out!

Is Scott Speedman leaving Grey’s Anatomy?
There are currently no plans for Grey’s Anatomy to part ways with Scott Speedman. In a recent interview, actor Ryan Speedman made it clear that he will continue to be part of the cast of the program for “a little while.” However, due to the fact that he was demoted from a regular cast member to a recurring cast member, Nick Speedman’s character will not appear as frequently as we saw him in season eighteen. There is a possibility that Nick Gray will leave Sloan, the show’s primary location, and return to Minnesota as a result of Speedman’s demotion. Before the start of season nineteen, it was revealed that Ellen Pompeo’s portrayal of Dr. Meredith Gray will only appear in eight episodes of the series.
Due to Speedman’s firing and Pompeo’s reduced screen time, it’s possible that Nick and Meredith will return to Minnesota, although Meredith will likely continue to travel to Seattle occasionally, as she does in the show’s eighteenth season. Following the compelling story developments of the Grey’s Anatomy season eighteen finale, we’re excited to announce that Speedman’s character Nick will continue to be a part of the show, albeit with less screen time going forward.
