James Corden “profusely apologized” to the owner of the hotspot in New York after the ban
New York restaurateur Keith McNally forgave James Corden after stating that the host of the Late Late Show was the “most offensive” customer he had ever had.
“James Corden just called me and apologized profusely,” McNally wrote on Instagram Monday evening. “After I’ve fucked up more than most people, I firmly believe in a second chance.”
McNally, who owns the iconic Balthazar restaurant, joked that if the 44-year-old allowed him to run a nighttime talk show for “9 months”, he would lift the ban on the iconic French bra.
“No, of course not. But … anyone who is generous enough to apologize to a fool like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned anywhere. Balthazar especially,” he continued, “all is forgiven.”
His decision to give Corden a second chance comes after McNally – known as the “restaurateur who invented the mall” – said he had to “86” (kick or ban) a comedian from his restaurants due to staff mistreatment.
In A scathing post on Instagram Earlier that day, the 71-year-old shared “two examples of funny treatment” of his employees at some of his plants.
In June, the owner claimed Corden had gotten annoyed after finding hair in his food, demanding free drinks and threatening to leave negative restaurant reviews.
“After eating the main course, Corden showed his hair to the manager Balthazar G., who was very apologetic,” he wrote next to the photo of the actor. “Corden was very unpleasant to G and said, ‘Get us another batch of drinks right now. And also take care of all our existing drinks. This is how I write any nasty reviews for a whine or something. “
In the second case earlier this month, the actor “Into the Woods” allegedly yelled at his waiter when his wife’s brunch order was executed incorrectly.
“Mr. Corden’s wife ordered an omelette with egg yolk with gruyere cheese and salad. A few minutes after they received the food, James called their waitress, MK, and told her there was some protein mixed with the yolk. MK informed the room manager, G. The kitchen reworked the dish, but unfortunately sent it out with home-made fries instead of a salad. “
According to the incident manager’s notes, Corden began to “scream madly at the waiter,” saying, “You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go to the kitchen and cook an omelette myself! “
A reputable restaurant owner only told Page Six that he was “reluctant” to publish information about the actor’s behavior, but wanted to protect his staff.
“Their work is already hard enough. They shouldn’t take this kind of abuse to anyone, especially the rich and famous, ”he told us.
