Jana Kramer claims that the “offensive” ex-boyfriend will “kill” her
Jana Kramer has revealed intimate details about the allegedly violent relationship she was in when she was younger and she feared for her life.
Highlighting Family Violence Awareness Month, the singer shared a photo of her teenage years sitting on her mother’s lap as they both smiled at the camera.
In the photo she was wearing a white T-shirt with a brown headband, while her mother was wearing a black top and a silver chain necklace.
“This is a very difficult photo for me. You can look at it and see two smiling faces. Daughter with mom. But what was under a smile is something that is still difficult for me to talk about “- she began in: her emotional post on Instagram Saturdaywhile concealing the name of the alleged perpetrator.
“I don’t remember the excuses I told people when I flew home to escape my torturer, the cuts and scrapes on my arm and shoulders, or why my ribs hurt. But when I look at this picture, that’s all I see. “
The 38-year-old further claimed to have seen “a broken girl pinned to the ground a few weeks earlier, while a man who loved me choked me, saying he was going to kill me,” describing that she felt “full of shame.”
Kramer, who is currently dating Ian Schinelli, described that she would allegedly be strangled and hit “because I was angry,” which then led her to believe that she “deserved to be abused.”
“I’m still trying to get through the fact that it wasn’t the last aggressive relationship …” she continued, adding “I’m speaking to help others and hopefully at least one person reading this will talk to someone.”
Alum “One Tree Hill” then called on its followers and anyone who read her post and potentially identified themselves with the harassment “not to wait for you to lose your breath, life, heart, soul.”
“In my biography I am combining a place where you can find help. @safehorizon and so many places are there for you. Please talk to someone, ”she concluded in her long message.
After her post, many went to the comment section to offer support and praise her for her work with survivors of domestic violence.
Author Gabrielle Bernstein wrote, “God bless you, sister,” while actress Shantel VanSanten shared: “Im [sic] so proud to share. You are one of the strongest people I know and your ability to help others with your stories is inspiring. ”
This is not the first time Kramer has spoken out about her alleged abuse, previously saying in another Instagram post that she “allowed certain behaviors to continue because I actually believed the negative voices in my head that were directed at me.”
The singer described these “certain behaviors” in which the person told her, “I barely pushed you, don’t dramatize … you bruise easily, hardly touched you, you are crazy.”
Kramer’s message came after she finalized her divorce with her ex-husband Mike Caussin, with whom she shares two children, after she accused him of adultery in their marriage.
Sources then told Page Six that Kramer filed the claim because the NFL player had cheated on her again.
The singer first married Michael Gambino, who was convicted of attempted murder after he strangled Kramer unconscious. He was released in 2010 and died two years later as a result of suicide.
She then married “That Thing You Do” star Johnathon Schaech in 2010, but broke up after 12 days and finalized her divorce in 2011.
