How did Gloucester teacher Jane Steele die?
The school claims that Mrs. Steele was a kind woman who dedicated her life to helping others. On the school’s Facebook page, Claire Giblin, the Principal of Denmark Road High School in Gloucester, paid tribute to Ms Steele.
The former Newent Community School principal, Mrs. Steele, was mentioned by Claire, who claimed that Mrs. Steele’s absence had made the world a smaller place. Mrs Steele passed away suddenly towards the end of the summer holidays.
Andy, Jane Steel’s husband, and Eleanor, Jane’s daughter, broke the devastating news to the alumni.
According to Jane’s family, she was the best of us and a wonderful wife, mother, friend and co-worker. Her actions were always altruistic. She dedicated her life to being there for others.

The message was posted on Facebook by Claire Giblin, Principal of Denmark Road High School, and reads:
Judith Steele our best self.
Jane’s husband Andy and their daughter Eleanor have asked that we share some heartbreaking news with our wider network and alumni. On Saturday 27th August, Jane Steele, our Deputy Headmistress, passed away unexpectedly. Our prayers are with her family who are understandably struggling to understand their tragedy.
Pure Denmark Road was Jane. a mentor, role model, valued employee and trusted friend. Without Jane to share it with, our world is less fulfilling.
We all stand together and prioritize the needs and wants of Andy and Eleanor. Though the loss is great, it pales in comparison to the happiness that has brought Jane. She was the best of us, a wonderful wife, mother, friend and valued co-worker, to use the words of Andy and Eleanor. Her actions were always altruistic. She dedicated her life to being there for others.
Jane’s funeral will be held at Christ Church in Cheltenham on Friday September 30th. All are invited to attend the memorial ceremony, which begins at 11 a.m. If you would like to email the family with condolences or to share a memory, please use the following address: [email protected]
Grief can come in any way – right or wrong. People will feel and communicate it in different ways. Allow yourself to experience your grief if this news causes it. I want to share a quote from CS Lewis that has helped me understand grief in the past: “The fear now is part of the joy then. This is the situation.
Kind regards,

Jane was Principal at Newent Community School from 2006 to 2013, a time I was there personally from 10th grade until leaving sixth grade, although I never visited Denmark Road. She has always maintained an excellent reputation and worked hard to meet the needs of the students there no matter what. Your absence will be deeply felt.
As Liv Millman remarked:
This is really sad as she was such a sweet and welcoming person. Even if you weren’t in her class she would make you feel welcome and offer help if needed. She will be sorely missed and I extend my love to her family and all current and former students at DRHS.

I’m really sad to read this. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time. REST IN PEACE
As Lauren T said,
It hurts to read this. Mrs. Steele was the best and most inspirational teacher and encouraged even those like me who lacked a natural talent for mathematics. Mrs. Steele always made learning fun and tried to see the best in everyone, so I was never afraid of classes. I will never forget how cute and hilarious she was. I will keep the nice observations she made in my yearbook. Our thoughts are with her husband, daughter and extended family at this tragic time.

Jane showed me incredible kindness. Her kindness, encouragement and sense of humor touched me deeply and I have only wonderful memories of my time in her class. My sincere condolences and best wishes go to Jane’s family.
