Janet McCurdy stands his ground

The former child star touched on her difficult decision to give up what she called “hush money” from Nickelodeon after harassment she says she suffered from a male boss.

“I’m coming at it from my personal perspective of being 21 and coming from a place of confidence,” she explained in the latest episode Anna FarisUnskilled podcast. “Immediately after that decision I thought, ‘That’s a lot of money, I could put my nieces through college.’ Now I think about such things.”

In the end, the 30-year-old said she was proud to have “chosen the path of honesty”, adding that she was “crying with pride” for herself.

McCurdy, who starred in the Nickelodeon series iCarly and sam and cat both are created Dan Schneider– made a loud statement in her new memoirs I’m glad my mom died. Describing the male boss not by name but simply as “The Creator”, the now-retired actress wrote that the intimidating figure first tried alcohol when she was just 18, during a private dinner they had ahead of the launch Sam and Keithin which he also starred Ariana Grande. During the same dinner, McCurdy claimed that “The Creator” gave her his coat and massaged her without consent.
