After initially seducing us with beautiful images, Netflix has now unveiled the trailer for their upcoming show Slumberland. In the coming month, the fantastic action-adventure film will be available to watch on the streaming service. It was written by David Guion and Michael Handelman and directed by Francis Lawrence (who also directed I Am Legend and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Mockingjay respectively). Inspired by Little Nemo in Slumberland, created by Winsor McCay.

The following passage is from the film’s official plot synopsis: “A young girl discovers a secret map to the dream world of Slumberland, and with the help of an eccentric outlaw, she explores dreams and escapes nightmares in the hopes that she might be able to make her own.” to see my deceased father again.”

The film transports audiences to a fantastic new realm, a dreamscape where the precocious Nemo, played by Marlow Barkley, and her quirky companion Flip, played by Jason Momoa, embark on the journey of a lifetime. Young Nemo’s life in the Pacific Northwest is thrown upside down when her fisherman father, Peter, mysteriously disappears at sea.

When she’s forced to spend her teenage years in the big city with her well-meaning but socially inept Uncle Phillip. Her new school and routine are difficult during the day, but during the night Nemo follows a secret map into the wondrous world of Slumberland, where she meets Flip, a tough but loving outlaw who quickly becomes her partner and guide.

Soon after, she and Flip will find themselves on an incredible adventure that will take them through dreams and away from nightmares. Along the way, Nemo will begin to hope that she can see her father again. If only she could find a priceless pearl that would fulfill her deepest desire, then everything would be perfect.

The series stars Jason Momoa as Flip, Marlow Barkley as Nemo, Kyle Chandler as Peter, Nemo’s father, Weruche Opia as Agent Green, India de Beaufort, Chris O’Dowd as Uncle Phillip and Humberly González. Flip is played by Jason Momoa and Nemo is played by Marlow Barkley. The preview reveals that once she finds herself in dreamland, she embarks on a journey that could be the solution to all her problems and even more problems in the future.

On March 3, 2020, it was announced that Jason Momoa would star in a live-action adaptation of the comic book series Little Nemo in Slumberland by Winsor McCay, directed by Francis Lawrence and distributed by Netflix, with production beginning in the summer same year. However, filming for the project had to be postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. On October 12, 2020, it was announced that Kyle Chandler would join the cast of the film, which previously cast Chris O’Dowd and Marlow Barkley. The roles of Weruche Opia and India de Beaufort were finally decided on February 18 of the following year. Filming on the film began on February 18, 2021 in Toronto and lasted until May 19, 2021. Pinar Toprak was the one who came up with the musical score.
