Jay Leno speaks after “severe” burns from a car fire
Jay Leno takes some time to recover from a car fire on Sunday that left him with “severe” burns to his face, but otherwise he is “OK”.
“I have severe burns from a gasoline fire”, comedian, 72 years old, said Diversity in a statement on Monday afternoon. “Im alright. A week or two is enough to get back on your feet.
The statement comes shortly thereafter TMZ reported that the former Tonight Show host and avid car collector was in a garage in Los Angeles, storing his dozens of valuable vehicles when one of them burst into flames.
Sources reported that the explosion severely burned the left side of Leno’s face without injuring his eye or ear.
According to the report, he was taken to the Grossman Burn Center in Los Angeles.
Celebrity representatives have yet to respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Leno’s “very serious medical accident” caused him to miss a scheduled Las Vegas show on Sunday night.
It was due to appear at the Financial Brand Forum 2022, but was forced to cancel shortly beforehand via an email sent to conference attendees.
“His family was unable to give us too many details, but a very serious medical situation has prevented Jay from traveling,” reads the notice that was obtained by humans Monday morning.
“We only know that he is alive, so we address our prayers tonight to him and his family.”
In June this year, Leno’s impressive collection of cars included over 180 vehicles, including exotic cars, hypercars, and museum artifacts. according to US News & World Report.
However, according to the magazine, the multitude of cars of the star “Jay Leno’s Garage” also includes numerous inexpensive and affordable cars.
