The church has ever taken the lead in Atlanta, but in 2013, a crime stunned the whole community. The murder of a member of a super-ministerial dynasty in the affluent Riverside neighbourhood shocked the city and beyond. The case started with a 911 call just after midnight on May 7, 2013, in which a shooting was conveyed at the home of 47-year-old Jerrick Jackson in the Riverside community. “He was shot in the torso area, in numerous shots,” former gang detective and Fulton County Attorney Richard Randolph said on “The Real Murder in Atlanta,” which aired Sunday at 8:07 PM on Oxygen channel air.
Jerrick Jackson, the younger brother of megachurch pastor Willie Jackson, was taken to the hospital.
Police said to her fiancée, Kimberly Little, who was with the target when he went home in his Porsche. He said several people following him in vehicles stole valuables at gunpoint. The men then broke into the upstairs house of Little’s 18-year-old daughter, Ambia Mitchell.
When the intruders attempted to go upstairs, Jerrick Jackson barricaded their way and was shot. Little and Mitchell were unable to determine the masked assailant. According to retired detective AB Calhoun of the Atlanta Police Department, they could only tell researchers that at least four black men aged 18 to 24 were sporting hoodies.
Investigators gathered proof including fingerprints and shells of bullets at the scene. They also warned Little’s financial institutions about the movement of his stolen credit cards and checks. Tragically, Jerrick Jackson has died in the hospital. “It was like I left my body,” said his brother, Rodney Jackson.
“I am there and not there.” The news of the offence quickly scattered throughout Atlanta due to the family’s defamation. Jerrick Jackson’s brother Willie Jackson founded the Gospel Tabernacle Church. “Everybody knows who Bishop Wiley Jackson is,” Maria Boynton, a former news anchor on WYAY Radio, told producers.
Jerrick Jackson has kept quiet about having a prominent sibling, but police think the link may have played a role in the offence. Early in the research, police discovered a surveillance video depicting a woman attempting to cash a check stolen from Little at a nearby bank.
When the police discovered her, she told that some unknown person had given her a chequebook. She confessed that Jerrick Jackson had passed examinations in the past, but an excuse for her whereabouts was verified at the time of the murder, so she was booked only for individuality theft. Now, the investigation is going on and many people eagerly waiting to know what will happen next. So, stay connected to All Social Updates for further information.
