Chicago Police The actors tell everyone: Is Voight ready for love?

Chicago is losing one of its best.

Jesse Lee Soffer took to Twitter on August 30 to confirm he was leaving Chicago Police and that the upcoming 10th season of the long-running NBC series will be his last. “Just want all the fans to know how grateful I am,” he said tweeted. “For you guys, we do it! It was an honor. I love you all.”

The 38-year-old shared a similar sentiment in a statement provided to Variety August 29. “I want to thank the incredible fans for their unwavering support over the past 10 years and express my deepest gratitude Dick Wolf and everyone at Wolf Entertainment, Petro Yankovskyi, Matt Olmstead, Derek Haas, Michael Brandt, Year of Eid, Gwen Seagan, NBC, Universal Television, my fellow cast members and our incredible team,” the statement read. “Creating this hour-long drama week after week has been a labor of love for everyone who has touched this show. I will always be proud of my time as a detective. Jay Halstead”.

Soffer starred in the police procedural, which is part of Wolfe’s One Chicago franchise, as well Chicago Fire and Chicago Med— since the foundation. The series premiered in 2014, but Soffer actually debuted as Det. Halstead at the premiere of the second season Chicago Fire in 2013.
