Jimmy Kimmel Praises Andrew Garfield for Saving Him at 2022 Emmys

Another day for your friendly neighborhood Andrew Garfield.

The 2022 Emmys had it all: laughs, touching speeches and big wins for some of our favorite celebrities. As it turns out, it was also courtesy of a superhero save The Incredible Spider-Man star. During the opening monologue of his late-night show, Jimmy Kimmel shared how Andrew eventually stepped in to prevent a potentially dangerous situation.

The TV presenter began by playing a musical number with the theme songs of the TV show at the beginning of the award ceremony. During the performance, the music of Game of Thrones came, and dancers with spears appeared.

“About the middle of the dance,” Jimmy said during Jimmy Kimmel Live On September 13, “the tip of one of the spears flies off the handle right at us at our table.”

For Jimmy, who shared Emmy’s table with Andrew, Amanda Seyfried and Jeremy Allen White— the placement of the seats with the stars benefited him.

He continued: “Out of nowhere, and I swear to God it happened, Andrew Garfield lunges forward and grabs him out of the air like Spider-Man.”
