Joe Jonas seems ready to talk about his divorce from Sophie Turner.
The musician apparently addressed his feelings about their breakup in the trailer new music he shared on TikTok Wednesday. The lyrics, set to upbeat music, describe people begging him to cheer them up.
“Come on, Joe, you’ve got a lot more to be thankful for,” he sings.
“Stop being sad because you’re making the room uncomfortable / OK, I understand / I know you feel so miserable / Sometimes I wish I had the power to be invisible,” the lyrics continue.
“Even bad people get sad sometimes and that’s the hardest truth. / I called mom and dad, they don’t know what to do.”
The 32-year-old Jonas Brothers member captioned the clip: “Even bad people are sad 🥲 #newmusic.”
Page Six did not immediately hear back from either star’s reps about the meaning of the unreleased song.
Jonas filed for divorce from Turner, 28, in September 2023 after four years of marriage. In his filing, he stated that their relationship was “irretrievably severed.”
“There are many speculative narratives as to why, but it is truly a mutual decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children,” the couple said in a joint statement at the time.
While Jonas has generally remained silent about their split, he asked fans not to trust any rumors or theories about it as he stepped out with his brothers in Los Angeles a few days after filing for divorce.
“It’s been a crazy week,” he thought. “I just want to say, if you can’t hear it coming out of these mouths, don’t believe it. APPROX? Thank you all for your love and support for me and my family. I love you people.”
His and Turner’s divorce was quite messy from the beginning. About two weeks after news of the split broke, the Game of Thrones star filed a lawsuit to ensure the “immediate return” of her two children to England.
She claimed the ‘Waffle House’ hitmaker had already agreed earlier in the Christmas 2022 period that the UK would be their ‘forever home’ for his family, but he was hiding their children’s passports so they couldn’t leave the US .
The couple has daughters Willa (3 years old) and Delphine (22 months old).
In a statement to Page Six at the time, Jonas called the lawsuit an “abuse of the legal system.”
“This is an unfortunate legal dispute over a marriage that is unfortunately ending,” he said through his representative. “When phrases like ‘abduction’ are used, it is at best misleading and at worst a serious abuse of the legal system.”
They reached a temporary custody agreement in October 2023, but in March, Turner asked a judge to reopen the divorce because they disagreed over the custody agreement and assets.
The mother-of-two opened up about the divorce in an interview with British Vogue earlier this month and admitted she was “unhappy” with the way the media portrayed their separation, especially the parts about her children.
“They are the victims of all this,” she honestly thought. “But I think we’re doing everything we can.”
“I’m sure we can sort this out. “Joe is a wonderful father to our children and that’s all I can ask for.”
She also said she hopes everyone will be able to reunite as a family for important events after the divorce.
“My dream is a wonderful Christmas where my daughters can have their dad, Joe’s whole family and their grandparents with them,” she explained.
“I’m not interested in politics, I just want girls to feel loved and for everyone to show up for them.”
Turner has since started working with developer Peregrine Pearson, and Jonas has worked with model Stormi Bree.
