Jordin Sparks nominates Chris Brown for “DWTS” after qualifying
Chris Brown on “Dancing with the Stars?” According to Jordin Sparks, “he would have killed him.”
After she was eliminated from the dance competition on Monday night, the singer told Page Six that she would like to see the “King of R&B” compete one day for the Mirror Ball trophy.
“To see him [dance] ballroom? And then he would do the present day and he would just – kill everything. That would be amazing, Sparks said, and her professional partner Brandon Armstrong agreed.
“You dance on the road, you danced with some of my homies,” added Armstrong. – You’re a bad boy, but come on. I’ll see you on the ballroom floor. That would be nuts! It would be nasty.
Other famous friends Sparks said she would love to see in the ballroom were Chris Tucker – “He was so good!” she was delighted – along with her friend from the movie “A Christmas Treasure” Michael Xavier and his wife, 32-year-old daughter of Eddie Murphy, Bria Murphy.
Sparks (32) and Brown (33) go back a long way as they famously collaborated on the 2008 hit “No air,”Which was featured on her debut album.
The “American Idol” graduate performed a contemporary routine for the song during an episode of the series “Prom Night”, which received rave reviews from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli.
Unfortunately, Sparks and Armstrong weren’t so lucky this week on Halloween Night. The dance duo ended up in the bottom two with Heidi D’Amelio and Artem Chigvintsev, whom head judge Goodman ultimately voted to save from elimination.
“Actually, I am very happy. The judges have been amazing to me all season and I have grown a lot in this journey, ”Sparks told reporters via Zoom after the show. “I’m sorry to be coming home, but I’m really glad to be able to sleep tomorrow and get a massage, get some physical therapy and spend time with my son. There are many silver linings.
She continued, “It’s getting harder as the weeks go by, and everyone’s good… so you know, it’s tough. I was actually watching the judges and they really struggled with who they wanted to save. Therefore, I am glad that I made a difficult decision for them. “
Sparks said, however, that she would not allow the elimination to fail her, as she plans to make a special announcement on her next big move on Tuesday.
“I honestly feel that this journey has opened me up in some way. I am still the same person as I was, but I feel new, I feel almost limitless, as if the energy has changed, ”she explained.
“I’m going to step into a really amazing new chapter. What, tomorrow I have an announcement about new music. I didn’t plan it that way, but I have to let you know anyway! And I’m very, very excited. “
As for Brown, there is no doubt that Run It! the singer – who has often mentioned the late Michael Jackson as his inspiration – would be an amazing contender for “DWTS” with impressive dancing and stage skills.
However, the audience’s reaction to the producers who actually cast Brown could be a different story due to his controversial past.
Over the years, the artist struggled with a long list of legal problems, including infamous 2009 arrest for the attack on the then girl Rihanna. Brown pleaded guilty to the assault and ended his trial for the incident in 2015, as well as social services and counseling on domestic violence.
Dancing With the Stars will air on Mondays at 8:00 PM EST and 5:00 PM PT on the Disney + Channel.
