Kandi Burruss remembers Bravo fans bullying her daughter Riley
Kandi Burruss is the newest “Housewife” that tells the story of the persecution of her children at the hands of Bravo fans.
Mom of threesome 46 years old disclosed to people Tuesday that her eldest daughter, Riley Burruss, 20, had been embarrassed for years.
“I hate this. It bothers me a lot, ”said the former singer about bullying. “Everyone now knows that Riley has dealt with her weight problems growing up in the public eye. People commented on her body and said all kinds of things about her appearance, and that really boils my blood.
Kandi added that as a reality TV star she “can handle anything,” but she would never want her children to be “bullied on the Internet.”
The actress, who is also the mother of Ace’s six-year-old son and Blaze’s two-year-old daughter, continued: “People who watch and star in our show sometimes go too far, and that’s not cool. This is crazy. It’s the end-of-day TV show.
When Kandi joined “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” in season two, Riley was only 7 years old and had to grow up in front of the cameras.
The college student, now 20, took a step back from the show, but that doesn’t scare the trolls away.
“Words definitely matter. I have seen one of my children be overwhelmedly bullied many times, “said Kandi, adding that last week” someone posted it [Riley] she was pregnant and was very upset about it.
“She said,“ Where are they getting this information? Here I felt good about myself, losing and bringing my body where I want, and now they write that I am pregnant? It’s crazy! ”
Kandi’s emotional disclosure comes days after the 14-year-old son of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Garcelle Beauvais, Jax, shared the racist comments he received from social media users simply because she was arguing with some of the her friends.
The comments were condemned by several “Housewives” as well as by Bravo, who issued a statement of support.
“We are shocked and horrified by the social comments directed at Garcelle’s son” read the statement. “We urge our viewers and social media followers to refrain from attacking our cast and their families with harmful rhetoric.”
Jax has since made his Instagram account private.
