Kate Hudson defends Chris Robinson’s ‘turbulent’ marriage at 21: ‘It’s not a mistake’



Kate Hudson doesn’t regret her “stormy” marriage to Chris Robinson – despite the “downward spiral”.

Actress flowed to the listeners of “Call Her Daddy”. Wednesday about her “first love”, whom she married in December 2000 at the age of 21.

“I didn’t question it for a second,” the 45-year-old “Fool’s Gold” star said of the relationship. “We were very connected. Chris taught me so much about love and connection. It was just a wonderfully passionate relationship.”

The first couple welcomed 20-year-old son Ryder in January 2004, and three years later they split.

Despite her divorce from the 57-year-old rocker, Hudson explained that the relationship “wasn’t a mistake” and she felt “grounded and full of love.”

She then defended her family unit, which includes 12-year-old son Bingham and 5-year-old daughter Rani, with ex Matt Bellamy and fiancé Danny Fujikawa, respectively.

“I really believe that an individual can exist differently than this very religious concept of a male-female relationship,” Hudson explained of their non-“traditional” dynamic.

“Just because you shouldn’t be with someone doesn’t mean you can’t create a big, beautiful experience,” she noted. “I don’t know how I managed it, but we just do it. All of us.”

“We are very connected and very close,” she gushed about the fathers of her children. “Love can change form. It’s interesting when you have this modern family; there is so much love for all children.

“I think what’s so special about my life is that… we all found out about it,” the Golden Globe winner continued. “The children feel like they have a big family.”

Hudson has given glimpses of her friendly co-parenting over the years.

In June 2022, the Oscar nominee reunited with Robinson at Ryder’s high school graduation ceremony.

Hudson also showed support for Bellamy’s growing family on social media, as the Muse frontman, 45, welcomed more children with wife Elle Evans.

The Fabletics co-creator became engaged to Fujikawa, 37, in 2021, telling podcast host Alex Cooper that she went through an “empowering,” therapist-recommended year without men before falling in love.
