Kathy Hilton was “weird” even before joining “RHOBH”
According to her good friend Paula Abdul, the character of Kathy Hilton “handsome dory” is the real deal.
“She was always weird, even before Housewives, a 60-year-old pop legend, told Page Six only at the Thursday premiere of Drag: The Musical” in Los Angeles.
Years before the 63-year-old Hilton joined the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” as the cast’s “friend” in 2021, Abdul hosted her own Bravo reality series “Hey Paula,” which aired for one season in 2007 year.
When asked if she and Hilton ever talked about their shared experiences of being Brave, Abdul admitted, “Not at all.”
Still, the Grammy Award winner raved about the fact that the socializing, which had established itself as a fan favorite during her first season of “Beverly Hills”, was “natural to reality TV.”
The show is currently setting up a dispute between Hilton and castmate Lisa Rinn – following an alleged “psychotic break” in Aspen.
However, the ex-host of “I Want to Be a Hilton” enjoys the support of fans who can’t understand why no one wanted to join her in the conga line at the chic members-only club Caribou – the apparent catalyst for her outburst.
Meanwhile, Abdul appreciates Hilton’s eccentric behavior during their years of friendship – especially at the premiere of her Las Vegas mansion “Forever Your Girl” in October 2019.
– I’ll tell you the funniest thing. This is the premiere of my Vegas mansion, and she doesn’t get the role of me starting the audience performance in the director’s chair, ”Abdul said, recalling the intimate intro of her show, Sin City, which ended in January 2020.
“And she follows me and starts [massaging my shoulders] and starts talking to me, ”continued the singer with a laugh. “And in my head I think,” Kathy, I’m starting my show! “
Hilton finally joined Abdul on stage two years later – at the wedding of Paris Hilton’s daughter on November 11, 2021, to Carter Reum, documented for Peacock’s “Paris in Love.”
Moments after the DJ played Abdul’s hit “Straight Up” at the party, Kathy and Paris, 41, forced the artist to perform live for such famous guests as Kim Kardashian, Nicole Richie, Ashlee Simpson, Demi Lovato and Bebe Rexha.
“Both Kathy and Paris pulled me up and I thought,” Great. ” I had no idea I was going to be performing tonight, but it was so much fun, ”she said. “I’m glad they got me up!”
Abdul was one of several celebrities who came out on Thursday night to watch the inaugural performance of “Drag: The Musical” featuring “RuPaul’s Drag Race” actor Alaska Thunderf-k, “Fire Island” actor Nick Adams and New Kids on Block Joey McIntyre.
The production of LGBTQIA + was attended by, among others Jeff Lewis, Chris Colfer, Courtney Stodden, Felix Solis and DJ “Shangela” Pierce.
For her part, Abdul told Page Six that she “always” would defend the queer community in every way possible.
“The community has been so special to me since I can remember, especially with the beginning of my career as a choreographer,” she said. “My treasured jewels are my dancers and so many of them belong to the community.”
Abdul explained, “For so long, all I could do was ask myself, ‘How could I get more involved? How could I be more of an ally? I will do this forever and ever.
