To this end, I know that I will be supported by the love and loyalty of the peoples whose ruler I have been appointed, and that I will be guided in carrying out these duties by a council of their elected parliaments ”.

King Charles III continued: “In all this, I am deeply encouraged by the constant support of my beloved wife. I take this opportunity to confirm my will and intention to continue the tradition of donating hereditary income, including crown wealth, to the government to all, in exchange for a sovereign subsidy that supports my official duties as head of state and head of state. nation.

During the first part of the meeting, the Privy Council announced the ruler without his presence.

Later on Saturday morning, 73-year-old Charles will attend the main proclamation from a balcony overlooking Friary Court in St. James’ Palace.

Subsequent proclamations will be read on the Royal Exchange in London on Saturday at noon local time and in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales on Sunday.

In recognition of Charles’ new title, the flags will be flown at full mast for approximately 24 hours over the weekend. After all proclamations in Great Britain have been read, the flags will return to half-mast in mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen died on Thursday at the age of 96 at her Balmoral Castle in Scotland after 70 years on the British throne.
