King Charles III’s coronation date disclosed by Buckingham Palace


Buckingham Palace announced via Twitter The date of the coronation of King Charles III was officially set on Tuesday.

“The coronation of His Majesty the King will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Westminster Abbey,” reads the statement on behalf of the royal family.

“The ceremony will witness the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III together with the Queen Consort.”

Previous reports incorrectly reported that the coronation would take place on June 3.

However, palace sources indicated at the time that the date had not yet been set in stone.

According to BloombergCharles is due to have a much smaller ceremony than his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in 1953.

Her Royal Highness, who for 70 years was the longest reigning monarch in Britain, was only 27 when she was coronated at Westminster Abbey.
