Leah McSweeney steps back on calling herself an “ex” housewife


She hasn’t dropped the apple yet.

Leah McSweeney took to Instagram to explain that she was not fired from “New York City Real Housewives” after calling herself “a former” New York City Real Housewife ” TikTok released yesterday.

Given the ongoing saga surrounding the overhaul of the Bravo show, fans took that wording as confirmation that she had gotten the shoe.

But McSweeney, 40, begged him to be different a short video she posted on Instagram Stories hours after TikTok becomes available.

“Okay, I wasn’t trying to cause a commotion … I wasn’t trying to make some important statement that I was a” former housewife “of New York,” she began, seemingly walking down the New York sidewalk.

“The program has not been broadcast or has not been filmed in a year and a half. So why should I call myself a “Housewife”? Just saying “were” is no big deal. “

She continued: “I’m on” Ultimate Girls Trip ” [Season 3] and I will be at BravoCon and I can’t wait to see everyone there “- referring to her upcoming appearance at BravoCon 2022to be held over three days, starting on October 14th.

“Shabbat shalom,” McSweeney concluded, finishing.

McSweeney, the designer behind the streetwear brand Married to the Mob, is one of the newer faces of “RHONY”, which made its debut on the show in 2019 after Bethenna Frankel’s second departure.

McSweeney starred in seasons 12 and 13.

In March 2022, Bravo announced a retooling of “RHONY”, which coincided with low ratings and chaotic dynamics among the cast – including from the series Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and the first black Housewife, newcomer to the show Eboni K. Williams.

The plan, described for Variety by producer and showrunner Andy Cohen, was to create a new version of “RHONY” from scratch – with a completely new cast, including so-called influencers such as Texan-New Yorker Lizzy Savetsky.

In the meantime, established personalities will be relegated to a spinoff, initially titled “RHONY: Legacy”.
