Leah McSweeny’s lawyers are calling BS on the Andy Cohen Bravo investigation

After Bravo CEO Andy Cohen was cleared by the network of charges including promoting drug use, lawyers for former reality star Leah McSweeney are questioning the legitimacy of the investigation and saying investigators never contacted them.
They further claim that Bravo is simply using Cohen’s acceptance as a convenient socializing opportunity timed with direct pitches to advertisers when networks promote their highest-profile titles.
Bravo said this week that “an external investigation into the recent allegations made by Brandi Glanville and Leah McSweeney against Andy Cohen has now been completed and the claims have been found to be without merit.”
McSweeney’s lawyers aren’t buying it.
“How do you conduct an investigation without talking to anyone? To our knowledge, no one has ever contacted our company,” its attorney, Gary Adelman, said in a statement. “Our opinion is that no one will believe this was a real investigation.”
“It’s the perfect time,” the lawyer said. “One line so they can repeat it to all advertisers on the front page.”
He added: “We look forward to reviewing all interviews, evidence and final reports from NBCU’s investigation as we receive them during the discovery phase of the lawsuit.”
Former Bravo star McSweeney, who is sober, filed a lawsuit in February alleging that Cohen “rewards [‘Real Housewives’ stars] with whom he uses cocaine with more favorable treatment and changes.”
She also alleged that Cohen has created a “workplace culture that thrives on drug and alcohol abuse, leading to a failure to accommodate employees with disabilities and those struggling to stay substance-free.”
Cohen has vehemently denied the claims, and his lawyers have demanded an apology.
Lawyers for another former “Housewives” star, Brandi Glanville, also sent a letter to NBCUniversal, Shed Media and Shed’s parent company, Warner Bros., in March. Discovery, claiming that Cohen sent her a sexually inappropriate video.
Cohen, who is gay, apologized and said it was a joke.
Cohen called McSweeney’s claims “hurtful” and added: “I know what the truth is and I know how I acted, and I walk through it every day with my head held high.”
Bravo didn’t come back to us.
