Margaret Josephs’ cocktail business is booming and the drama continues to heat up on Season 14 of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”
The 57-year-old entrepreneur recently showed off her soft drink brand Soirée – which she founded with business partner Lexi Barbuto in 2023 – becoming the first mocktail to be served at Guaranteed Price Field in Chicago, the duo gushed in an exclusive chat with Page Six.
“Non-drinkers were categorically excluded from the party. Our task was to create a drink that would feel and taste like life at a party, but at the same time be inclusive to those who choose to drink or not,” explains the duo.
“In both beverage and sports, two historically male-dominated industries, being a part of driving female fandom and entrepreneurship is amazing!”
Josephs, who marked the anniversary, ceremonially threw the first pitch to White Sox reliever Zach Remillard during a home game on May 11 – and Barbuto tell us they had the “best time” meeting with coaches and players, their wives and girlfriends to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend.
George McDoniel, senior director of corporate partnerships for the White Sox, was also delighted with the presence of the ladies who organized the evening at the iconic sports facility.
“We are excited to introduce Soirée to our fans,” he tells us. “The growing soft drink trend among all sports fans is undeniable, and we are grateful to partner with a brand that focuses on inclusivity and togetherness.”
Adds McDoniel: “These drinks will undoubtedly be a hit with fans looking to enjoy the game day atmosphere with friends and family.”
As Soirée becomes more and more successful, Josephs sees more and more conflict in the current installment of “RHONJ.”
Sunday’s episode showed the tension between the businesswoman and her friends, Jennifer Fessler and Jackie Goldschneider. The women got into a discussion, talking about Fessler’s burgeoning friendship with Teresa Guidice, Josephs’ famous fortune teller.
While the status of her relationship with Fessler, 53, remains unclear, Josephs has made no secret of the fact that her once close bond with Goldschneider, 47, has been irrevocably severed.
“I feel sad about this. I think it’s sad, but I think it’s weird,” she told us at BravoCon in November 2023. “It’s shocking.”
Josephs also addressed speculation that she and Goldschneider had a falling out over a conversation about the latter’s memoir, “The Weight of Beautiful,” published last fall by Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
“I supported her with this book, I wanted her book to be successful. I had my own book at Simon & Schuster [that] she has done incredibly well and I only want good things for her,” shared the author of “Caviar Dreams, a Tuna Budget.”
It is said that Goldschneider believed that Josephs gave her credit for getting a contract to write her own book – the creator of the Macbeth Collection does not agree with this claim.
“No one achieves anything alone. This is a team. I have a beautiful team behind me. I couldn’t be myself if everyone didn’t support me,” Josephs said, describing the reasons for the disagreement.
“I think she was very offended when I said, ‘I was behind you,’ and it didn’t make any difference. And I think she was very offended that I said that.
Goldschneider, for his part, sees things differently.
“That trust was broken and I don’t know if it can be repaired that easily,” she told us at BravoCon. “I’m not sad. I think the friendship is over and I think everyone will see this and understand why I’m not sad.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
