Margot Robbie Almost Quit Acting After Struggling With Wolf Of Wall Street Fame
Being famous isn’t an easy feat – just ask Margot Robbie.
The 32-year-old Australian actress rose to world fame after landing a role in the 2013 hit movie “The Wolf of Wall Street,” opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Matthew McConaughey.
In the movie, Robbie played Naomi Lapaglia, Jordan Belfort’s second ex-wife, played by DiCaprio.
And while her performance was widely applauded and made her one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, success came with one big trap: fame.
“Something was going on in those early stages and it was all terrible,” said Robbie Vanity fair.
“I remember saying to my mother,” I don’t think I want to do this. ” And she just looked at me with a completely straight face and said, “Honey, I think it’s too late not to do this.” It was then that I realized that the only way was forward. “
The actress said that adapting to the intrusive paparazzi was something she had to learn.
“I know how to navigate airports, and now I know who is trying to fuck me in which way,” she said.
“If my mom dies in a car accident because you wanted to take a picture of me walking to the grocery store or you throw my nephew off the bike – what for? For a photo? It’s dangerous, but still no wonder nothing changes.
And while Robbie has found ways to deal with the mega-fame – removing all of her social media, for example – she has admitted that she still feels uncomfortable.
“The way I try to explain this job to people – and this world – is when the highs are really high and the lows are really, very low. And I think if you are lucky, everything will balance in the middle, ”she added.
