Marlo Thomas ticks off Sherri’s employees by “grossly shaming” her
We were told that Marlo Thomas sent Sherri staff into “bear-mom mode” when she “embarrassed” Sherri Shepherd’s housekeeper on her own show.
The star of “That Girl” appeared on the new Shepherd talk show Tuesday to promote a number of projects, including the upcoming movie “Magical Christmas Village.”
But she stunned the people behind the scenes when, at the end of her episode, she reminded Shepherd that their paths had crossed.
“I interviewed you for my AOL program [‘Monday’s with Marlo’]”She recalled, adding” and you were once a big woman! ”
Thomas then dug deeper, placing his hand on her body and blowing her face up, trying to mimic Shepherd’s old size.
“You’ve lost a lot of weight, but you still have boobs! That’s good, she said.
Comedian Shepherd, who revealed she “lost some 35 pounds” jumped off her seat and hugged her laughing, but we were told the staff didn’t find it funny at all.
“Sherri is a good sport, but people [at the show] they are very protective of her, ”our informant shared.
They added: “People were not pleased that the fat woman embarrassed her on national television. It was like a slap in the face.
And we were told they were talking “very loud” about it.
Shepherd told People magazine last year that her “goal is to live a long and active life with my son Jeffrey, who has the same birthday as me,” after losing 20 pounds during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It works really hard to create a very positive environment. Morale [at work] she is everything to her, so people have kind of gone into mama bear mode, ”they added.
Shepherd still seemed to take it easy when viewers pointed it out on Twitter. One even tweeted: “At least you know @MarloThomas keeps it real … lmao, I almost fell off my chair laughing.”
“You never know what’s going to happen on #Sherri!” Shepherd replied with a laughing emoji.
Another viewer told her that Thomas “just acted like the elders in the black church. You just say things that would offend her if she were your age, but you throw it off because she’s older! After 84 trips around the Sun, you can say whatever you want. ” Shepherd replied with laughing emoticons.
“{As it came out on TV, Sherri laughed at that comment,” a Shepherd representative told us, referring us to Debmar Mercury, the production company behind the show, for a comment “on the feelings of the staff.” He declined to comment.
Thomas’ representative declined to comment.
