Julia Roberts has revealed that the late Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife, Coretta Scott King, paid the hospital bill for her birth when her parents could not afford it.
While staying in interview with Gayle Kingstar Erin Brockovich explained that her parents became friends with kings while living in Atlanta and running a drama school.
“One day Coretta called my mother and asked if her children could be part of the school because they had a hard time finding a place that her children would accept,” said Roberts, referring to segregation in the 1960s.
“My mom used to say,” Sure come on, “so they all just became friends and helped us get out of our jam.
Earlier it was reported that a member of the Ku Klux Klan blew up the car before one of the Betty and Walter Roberts plays in response to the fact that King Jr’s daughter Yolanda was cast in a role in which she had to kiss a white actor.
The famous journalist called the decision of Roberts’ parents “extraordinary” because people did not see “little black children interacting with little white children in an acting school” at that time.
The “Ticket to Paradise” star celebrated its 55th birthday on Friday, sharing a selfie, sipping coffee and rose gold balloons.
“I feel love and magic in my ⚡️55. ⚡️ birthday! My cup is full 🥰 ”- she wrote the caption on the photo on Instagram.
Earlier this month, the star of “Pretty Woman” talked about living with her husband Danny Moder and their children, 17-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, and 15-year-old Henry.
“The life I built with my husband, [and] the life we have built with our children are the best things, ”she said. “To come home at the end of the day, triumphant for them.”
