Meghan Markle says he quits his job with the “Deal or No Deal” briefcase

Meghan Markle quit her job in 2006 as a folder in “Deal or No Deal” because she felt she had been “reduced to bimbo”.

The Duchess of Sussex reflected on her brief episode on the game show, admitting that she was “genuinely grateful” to have a job that could pay her bills, but felt that the role had “little substance”.

“I ended up quitting the show. I was much more than what was objectified on stage, “she said in the last episode of her podcast,”Archetypes“.

“I didn’t like being forced to be all in appearance and little substance, and that’s what it felt like when I was reduced to this specific archetype: the word ‘bimbo’.

Markle, 41, who spoke to Paris Hilton in this episode, was considering studying international relations in college and riding a motorcade with a politician in Argentina, and concluded that the job did not live up to her values.

“I was grateful for this work, but not for how I felt in it, which was not wise,” she said. “I was surrounded by intelligent women, by the way … but that wasn’t what I was focusing on.”

Markle said women were “lining up” to get eyelashes, hair extensions, bra padding and even tanning coupons because the production had a “cookie cutter idea” for what they should look like.

“It was all about beauty, not necessarily the brain,” remembers Markle, adding that the woman kept telling her to “suck.”

Markle, now a mother of two, said she wanted her daughter Lilibet to be known for her intellect rather than her beauty.

“I want our daughter to aspire to a slightly higher level,” said Markle. “Yes, I want my Lili to want to be educated and want to be smart and take pride in these things.”

Markle appeared on “Deal or No Deal” from 2006 to 2007 before becoming a regular on the USA Network’s “Suits” in 2011. She married Prince Harry in May 2018 and left the series – and acting – completely.

Before the US couple’s royal wedding, Deal or No Deal host Howie Mandel admitted he has no memory of Markle’s time on the show.
