Michelle Branch’s divorce file with Patrick Carney

Michelle Branch filed for divorce from her husband, Patrick Carney, on Friday, the day after accusing a Black Keys member of infidelity.

According to documents obtained by Page Six, the 39-year-old singer cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation.

In addition to requesting the 42-year-old drummer to pay legal fees, Branch reportedly requested primary custody of his four-year-old son Rhys and daughter Willie at 6 months of age, as well as alimony.

The songwriter, who married Carney in April 2019, confirmed their separation on Thursday after she claimed via Twitter that the musician had cheated on her while she was home with the newborn.

After Branch TMZ said“Saying that I am totally devastated doesn’t come close to describing how I feel for myself and my family.

“The rug has been completely ripped out from under me and now I have to figure out how to move forward,” she continued. “With such young children, I am asking for privacy and kindness.”

Earlier that day, Branch was arrested for domestic violence against her partner.

The singer of “Everywhere” confessed that, according to court records, he punched Carney “one or two times in the face.”

The branch was released on a $ 1,000 bail, and her hearing is scheduled for November 7.

Davidson County Sheriff’s Office explained to Page Six Friday that she left earlier than scheduled for 12 hours because her youngest was breastfeeding.

The guitarist gave birth to a baby girl in February. Four months later, she honored Carney on Father’s Day Tribute on Instagram.

“This guy makes our world go round and we love him so,” she gushed in June. “Sorry you missed golf yesterday, Patrick!”

Branch was previously married to Teddy Landau from 2004 to 2015, and the ex-couple has a daughter, Owen, 17.

As for Carney, the producer married Denise Grollmus in 2007. After their breakup in 2009, he moved with Emily Ward. They were married from 2012 to 2016.
