Bearnhardt And Cora Hartig: Cause Of Death Of The Couple

Bearnhardt Hartig was the son of George Hartig and Rachel Bevans Hartig. He was born on September 22, 1908 in Frostburg, located in Allegany County, Maryland. Cora Arnold Hartig’s parents, Lloyd A. Arnold and Susie A. Baker Arnold, gave birth to her in 1909 in Avilton, located in Garrett County, Maryland. They had their wedding and then moved to a ranch in Portage county, Ohio, in the United States. They are in their early 80s but still relatively energetic people who have led active and happy lives after retirement despite their old age.

Therefore, the neighbors became suspicious when they discovered that the Hartigs had been parked in their yard for two days without seeing the elderly couple. During this time, the neighbors did not see the Hartigs.

On April 7, 1990, the neighbors’ son, James Davis, went to check on them and found the garage door open. When he entered the house, he was stunned to see the lifeless bodies of the couple lying on the floor of their kitchen. When law enforcement officers arrived at the scene, they were greeted by the stench of rotting flesh and discovered 10 spent Winchester.25 caliber cartridge casings lying next to the dead bodies still wearing their clothes.

Cora suffered internal injuries as a result of gunshot wounds to the chest, according to the medical examiner’s findings, which determined she was shot a total of five times. Bearnhardt Hartig was found dead from “multiple visceral injuries” and gunshot wounds to the right side of his chest, according to autopsy results.

Hartig was shot three times before he died. The medical examiner came to the conclusion that the fatal rounds were fired from a distance of at least more than “one and a half to three feet” due to the absence of any stippling or gunpowder residue on the victim’s body.

Murder Details By Bearnhardt and Cora Hartig

Tyrone Noling, Butch Wolcott, Joseph Dalesandro, and Gary St. Clair was picked up by the police of Alliance, Ohio, on April 9, 1990, and charged with various counts of robbery in the city of Alliance. Tyrone allegedly admitted to another inmate, Paul Garner, that he was responsible for the Hartigs’ deaths while he was in captivity.

Paul testified that Tyrone told him it was not his intention to kill the couple but that there was no alternative without Gary accidentally saying his name in front of the victims. According to Paul’s testimony, Tyrone told him that he did not intend to kill the couple.

According to the allegations, Tyrone said, “I didn’t mean to do anything. It just happened. The lady said, “I know your identity.” But he denied the claims to the police, and even said he was being framed for the murder of the elderly couple by his accomplice, Gary. On April 5, 1990, between the hours of 3:30 and 4:00 in the afternoon, the four convicted individuals drove to Portage county, located in the state of Ohio.

Bearnhardt was outside mowing the lawn when Tyrone and Gary entered the Hartig home brandishing a .25-caliber semiautomatic and a shotgun. Bearnhardt was surprised by the presence of the two men.

As a result of witness testimony, it was also discovered that Butch and Joseph were in the Hartigs’ driveway about twenty to thirty minutes after the robbery when they heard gunshots and a woman’s scream. The scream was followed by another gunshot, and after that, there was complete silence. A short time later, Tyrone and Gary rush into the car, and the four speed off.

Current Location Of Tyrone Noling

At a trial held in 1992, all charges filed against Tyrone were dropped; however, he was indicted by a grand jury in August 1995 for the Hartigs’ murders. All of the counts against him have firearm specifications, including those for aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and two counts of aggravated felony murder.

He was charged in all these cases. In order to obtain the indictment, the State had to present the testimony of the investigating officers as well as the testimony of some of Tyrone’s former acquaintances and co-defendants.
