After a month rapper NCAA Youngboy was arrested and in custody in Louisiana, a Facebook post falsely claimed that the rapper was found dead in his prison cell. The picture is a screenshot of a candid news report, which read: “The world’s most popular NCAA artist YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Golden, was discovered dead in his cell earlier today.” The image was shared on May 19, and it does not offer any origin that confirms the claim. USA Today reached out to the poster for comment. But it’s an unfounded gossip: Golden is still in prison, Police Department officials in Louisiana confirmed.

Similar gossip about the rapper’s death has been shared on social media in the past but is thus untrue. Golden was not erect dead in his cell, Greg Moroux, chief legal counsel for the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, told USA TODAY.
