“Never Haven” star Maitreya Ramakrishnan “shocked” by the twists in the third season

“I’ve never seen” so much drama!
Season 2 of “Never Have” left viewers with a happy ending that everyone has been longing for; Devi and Paxton were officially a boyfriend and girlfriend. Unfortunately, Daxton is not destined (at least for now) and there is even a new sweetheart named Des (played by Anirudh Pisharody).
“Season 3 ends in a way where we don’t know exactly what’s going to happen,” said Page Six Maitreya Ramakrishnan, who plays Devi. “But I was very shocked at all the dramatic twists in her love life, whether it be with a new character, Des, or breaking up with Paxton. I thought, “Shit!”
Ramakrishnan said she could refer to Devi… to some extent.
“I feel like I relate to her because her journey is very universal, in terms of her self-loving journey, I can definitely relate to it as I feel that many people can relate to it because I haven’t always loved myself” the Canadian-born actor explained.
“I think when it comes to personality, Devi and I are a lot more different,” she continued, describing herself as “more laid back” because she cared less about her high school grades. “Devi is much more intense when it comes to school.”
Amazingly, “Never Haven” is Ramakrishnan’s first role.
She was selected by co-creator Mindy Kaling from thousands of applicants after filming an audition tape at a local library with her mother’s camera.
“I would like to say that I felt I had a chance and that I feel confident,” she explained with a laugh. “It was absolutely not true. I felt very much like I was doing something for fun, a random video with me would be sent to these random people in LA, and maybe they laughed at it and moved on. I thought I had no chance, but I thought, “Eh, what am I going to lose?”
Ramakrishnan, who called her the cast of “The Cinderella Story”, is well aware of what her role means for Southeast Asian girls.
“Hearing so many fans talk about how they feel like they are represented by the show, it warms my heart,” she said. “This is one of my favorite interactions with fans because it’s actually running late.”
And if he hopes Devi will finish Paxton in season 4, fans might be surprised by the response.
“I hope Devi ends up with true self-love and self-respect,” Ramakrishnan replied.
