Nick Carter mourns the death of his brother Aaron Carter
A devastated Nick Carter referred to his “complicated” relationship with his late brother Aaron Carter in a heartfelt tribute to the singer’s tragic death on Saturday.
“Today my heart was broken” began a long tribute alongside a slide show of his and Aaron’s photos over the years. “Although my brother and I had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never died down.
“I always hoped that one day he would want to walk a healthy path and finally find the help he so desperately needed. Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for the loss. But the truth is, addiction and mental illness are the real villains here. “
The 42-year-old Backstreet Boys member concluded: “I’m going to miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz. Now is your chance to finally have some peace that you will never find here on earth… God please take care of my little brother.
Aaron was found dead at his home in California on November 5 at the age of 34.
“It is with great regret to confirm that Aaron Carter did not respond to this message at his home in Palmdale, California,” said the singer’s representative Page Six at the time.
“The family has been notified and is flying to Los Angeles,” the spokesman continued. “Aaron worked very hard towards the end of his life to be a good father and fix his family.”
Aaron and Nick had a strained relationship with their siblings over the years, and a Grammy nominee demanded that they be barred from approaching his younger brother in September 2019.
“In light of Aaron’s increasingly disturbing behavior and his recent confession that he has thoughts and intentions to kill my pregnant wife, [Lauren Kitt]and the unborn child, we had no choice but to take all possible measures to protect ourselves and our family, ”Nick wrote in a statement at the time.
A one-year restraining order was issued in November 2019.
Before Aaron’s death, the actor spoke frankly about his struggle with addiction.
Singing “I Want Candy” “started getting really heavy to drink” after his time in “Dancing With the Stars” in 2009, he Oprah said in 2016.
“I was telling people,” I’m on a very bad path now, I need help, “he recalled then. “I called my mom. She took me to her home. The next day I was at Betty Ford [Rehab] Center.”
The following year, Aaron was arrested for possession and driving under marijuana, but avoided jail.
Two months later, Aaron had a “terrible” car accident that left him injured, and his BMW overall.
The rapper survived the son, Prince Lyric Carter, whom he welcomed in November 2021 with his returning, departing partner Melanie Martin.
Despite the happy occasion, last year’s home life of the Aaron’s Party singer was almost routinely consumed by commotion.
A week after Prince’s birth, the musician and Martin, 30, split up over what he described on social media as a “very big lie” allegedly perpetuated by his separated twin sister Angel Carter.
Three months later, Martin issued a ban on Aaron after an argument in which she claimed he had punched her in the torso, breaking three of her ribs before kicking her and their newborn son out of his California home.
Martin, who became engaged to Aaron in June 2020, speculated that pills were behind Aaron’s alleged outburst.
“I think he took too many of his prescription pills in the days we broke up and it gave him too much aggression. He probably doesn’t even remember doing it, ”she wrote in March. “I think he needs anger management, anger management advice. He’s very jealous and has to be more rational because he doesn’t even remember he did it.
Martin later backed down from his claims that Aaron was physically aggressive during the dispute, however, explaining on Instagram that she had invented a “false” narrative about postnatal depression.
There was a children’s star in September he confessed to the sun that he voluntarily participated in an outpatient rehabilitation program due to the loss of care for his son.
“I haven’t had any relapses or anything like that, it’s just that the triggers are big for me now [and] I want my son back, ”he said in the paper at the time.
