Carol and Daryl will (probably) go again.
after Melissa McBride fell out of the plan The Walking Dead spin-off with her character Carol and Norman ReedusDaryl in April, citing the move of production overseas, fans of the zombie horror franchise were disappointed.
However, Reedus, who is still reprising his character in the spin-off, says there’s still plenty of reason to be optimistic about McBride’s appearance, even if it’s further along than fans had hoped.
“Don’t you know she won’t be in the spin-off” he said Variety September 23. “I’ll just leave it at that. She is a very important part of Daryl’s story. Everything will be fine”.
Well, that’s quite a shift! But Reedus gave a pretty straightforward explanation.
“The split was announced before we announced it The Walking Dead was ending,” he said. “We always thought we were doing a show that would go back to the flagship show — we’d take off and then come back to the flagship show.”
Reedus elaborated on this when it was announced The Walking Dead ended after season 11, they “filmed for a year and a half straight, before the start of COVID,” and McBride just needed a break.
