Offset continues to pay tribute to Migos rapper Takeoff
Offset is still “missing” at Takeoff – three weeks after the rapper’s tragic death.
The 30-year-old rapper, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, shared a picture of his late cousin on Instagram on Wednesday wearing a gray jacket, floral shirt and diamond necklaces.
“Everything is missing [sic] you especially [sic] that smile, he said described the post.
On November 1, Takeoff – whose real name was Kirsnick Khari Ball – was shot dead at a bowling alley in Houston after an argument broke out and the gun fired.
A celebration of his life was held in Atlanta after his death, and his former Migos bandmates – and family members – honored his enduring legacy.
“I love you dog,” Offset said at the party, adding: “I wish we could laugh again.”
A few days after the star’s funeral, Offset wrote on social media that his “heart is broken” and the pain “unbearable”.
“I went to bed and woke up hoping it was all a dream but it’s reality and reality feels like a nightmare,” wrote the “Bad and Boujee” rapper on Instagram.
“I would like to hug you one last time. Laugh one last time. Light up one last time. Perform one last time,” he said, adding that he knew his cousin “is in heaven now.”
Before the candid post, Offset subtly paid homage to the rapper by changing his Instagram profile picture to one of the “MotorSport” rappers with a white heart emoji.
Takeoff and Offset formed the Grammy-nominated group in 2008 with Quavo, who was at the scene of Takeoff’s death. He was fortunately uninjured.
Although the three rappers fell out earlier this year, the family apparently put their differences aside to come together and mourn Takeoff’s death.
Quavo, who is Takeoff’s uncle, has not yet spoken out about the tragedy.
