Jordan Burroughs won his sixth World Wrestling Championship and combined that with his 2012 Olympic triumph to become the first American wrestler to win seven gold medals worldwide.

Burroughs, 34, triumphed in each of his five matches over the previous two days at the World Championships in Belgrade in the non-Olympic 79kg division.

Burroughs defeated Iran’s Mohammad Nokhodi 4-2 on Friday with his striking double-leg takedown in a repeat of the World Finals that Burroughs also won last October.

Burroughs had long wanted to break John Smith’s American record of six total and world Olympic titles. Smith said in June that he would retire after the 2024 Olympics (regardless of whether he made the team).

The most experienced wrestler not only received professional recognition for his achievements, but also fell in love and created a beautiful family.

Essentially, Jordan and his bride Lauren shared their story on a website they created for their 2013 wedding.

Jordan and Lauren first became friends at the 2011 NCAA Finals. She came there to watch her brother fight for American University, but Jordan caught her eye.

Jordan was added later and they immediately started corresponding on Facebook. After a while they became closer and two years later, in October 2013, they got married.

Jordan tweeted that same month that being married to the woman of your dreams seems like a bigger achievement than winning gold medals.

Jordan and his wife Lauren are in their thirties

The couple’s age difference is estimated at one to two years and they have been married for around nine years. On July 18, Jordan’s birthday, he recently turned 34.

Two months before his birthday, on May 14, the wrestler sent his wife a birthday message. He stated that he considers Lauren a blessing in his life.

Lauren’s exact date of birth is still unknown, so her age is now estimated to be between 30-35.

Burroughs, on the other hand, was born in 1988 in Camden, New Jersey, a country within the United States. He is primarily from Winslow Township, New Jersey’s Sicklerville borough.

The couple is blessed with four children: Beacon, Ora, Banner and Rise

Beacon was born on July 19, 2014, just months after Jordan and his wife got married. They expanded their family by giving birth to a girl named Ora on June 11, 2016.

It was horrifying for the couple, who were expecting their third child, that Lauren miscarried in 2018. She discussed the meaning of her loss in a blog post, claiming that it gave her a chance to think more seriously about life and her children.

Although the miscarriage was a devastating experience for Jordan and Lauren, it had little impact on their lives. The newlyweds focused on building a better life for themselves and their children.

Burrough’s third child was born after he won the seventh medal of his career

In 2019, Jordan won his eighth career medal at the Wrestling World Championship and went on to announce the birth of his third child. Lauren congratulated her husband on his bronze medal and revealed the details.

Rise’s third child, Jordan, and his wife were born in January 2020.

The wrestler and his wife want to give their children names that have meaning and symbolism. Rise’s name probably serves as a metaphor for overcoming obstacles and perseverance.

Additionally, Burroughs announced the birth of his fourth child with his wife Lauren Mariacher on social media, saying that “God’s timing is perfect.” Banner Jordan Burroughs was born on September 26, 2021 at 8:36 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces.

The Burroughs family is proud of its Olympic gold

The greatest American wrestler of all time, Jordan Burroughs, uploaded his winning photo to his Instagram page an hour ago. Since then, he has received many congratulations on his achievement from his friends and family.

The 79kg freestyle world champion from Winslow Township High School won his sixth Olympic or global gold medal on Friday in Belgrade, Serbia.

Burroughs hoisted the American flag and completed a lap of honor around both competition mats. Burroughs has been playing for the Pennsylvania Regional Training Center for more than a year after moving to Philadelphia from Lincoln, Nebraska.

He won his first at 79kg and his sixth world title last year after moving up from 74kg, where he spent most of his career.

His father Leroy Burroughs also pursued a sporting career during his era

Burroughs grew up in the town of Sicklerville, New Jersey, as the youngest of his parents’ four children.

He remembers how his father’s help enabled him to be a prolific Olympian. Essentially, his 60-year-old father was also active in athletics, but his Olympic career was unsuccessful.

His son recalled watching his father get ready for social occasions when he was younger. He sat and watched as his father dressed and presented the world with the best possible version of himself.

However, he did praise and thank his father for believing in him and shaping him into the man he is today.

Flowrestler’s impressive 2022 net worth in millions

Burroughs appears to be in the millions thanks to his stellar Olympic performance. His net worth was estimated at $4 million by Fullcelebs.com. His lucrative freestyle wrestling career and earlier folkstyle wrestling career both contributed greatly to his wealth.

He also took part in competitions in Budapest, Hungary. He received a bronze medal, earning him a total of seven world or Olympic medals, tying him with American legend Dave Schultz for the second highest honor in American history.

His additional earnings from the endorsements deal

Burroughs has even received newspaper reviews and endorsements, often reserved for gymnasts, swimmers and track and field athletes. His current sponsors include Resilite, Athletic Brewing and Sunkist Kids.

Resilite began as a manufacturer of wrestling mats in 1959 and has since grown to become the leader in protective mats and padding for activities such as gymnastics, cheerleading, preschool, martial arts and more.

Similarly, Athletic Brewing focuses on using high-quality, all-natural ingredients to create excellent non-alcoholic beverages suitable for any occasion.

According to a 2016 New York Times article, Burroughs was paid $250,000 for winning a gold medal in freestyle wrestling in the 74 kg division at the London Games four years ago. For the same medal at the Rio Olympics, he gets $500,000.

He used the money from the London payout to pay for his wedding and other things.

Since 2011, his Olympic and World Championship wins have brought in approximately $415,000. As there is not a lot of money involved in this sport, he said, “it is crucial for us to do our best in the Olympics.”
