Once upon a time famous 2: will there be another movie sequel? Here’s what we know about a sequel

If you’ve seen and appreciated the I Used to Be Famous movie currently available to stream on Netflix, you might be interested in a sequel.

I Was Famous 2: Will There Be One? Or will this film be remembered as a one-hit wonder? At this point we only know the following:

What is “I Used to Be Famous” about?

The film’s main characters are Stevie, an autistic teenager with a real knack for playing the drums, and Vince, a former boy band star who now scratches his living busking the streets of London.

Vince sees an opportunity for a second attempt at fame when he learns about Stevie’s skills. After becoming friends, Vince and Stevie decide to form a band. However, their first performance is a fiasco, as some viewers make fun of one of Vince’s songs and are rude to Stevie.

Concerned about the boy’s safety, Stevie’s mother prevents Vince from seeing her son. Both Vince and Stevie find this annoying, but as the film progresses, the two find a way to maintain their friendship. Read our review and article on the ending of the movie to learn more about it.

Will there be I Used To Be Famous 2?

Although a sequel hasn’t been announced yet, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll never be made.

Netflix might consider the possibility if the film’s popularity with audiences is high and its followers are asking for a sequel.

The availability of the main stars of the first film will also affect whether a sequel takes place.

While Ed Skrien, who plays Vince in the picture, is currently filming Rebel Moon, his IMDB page states he has no other projects in the works. If Netflix and the film’s director Eddie Sternberg agree to the idea, he could theoretically have a chance to start work on a sequel as early as next year.

Leo Long, the young actor who plays Stevie in the film, would also be a key factor in a sequel. This passionate folk singer is autistic, as is his personality, and he is committed to making the entertainment industry more accommodating of actors and musicians with disabilities (according to his IMDB page). Therefore, it’s possible that he might agree to produce a sequel to further his career as well as the careers of other challenged cast members like those who appeared in the original film.

There’s definitely room for a second film and maybe even a third, but we’ll just have to wait for official hearing!

What could happen in I Used To Be Famous 2?

Vince made the decision at the end of the first film to forego his second chance at success. He made the decision that his friendship with Stevie was far more important than anything else. That decision was likely influenced by a previous mistake he made when he decided to go on a long tour with his band instead of doing the most important thing – spending time with his dying brother.

Vince came to realize that a reunion tour with one of his former bandmates was less meaningful to their friendship and his ability to support the young teenager’s desire than the fact that Stevie was not dying.

The sequel can begin with Stevie and Vince reforming their band and touring with their distinctive style of music. The film could be a road trip drama similar to Rain Man that also focused on a bond between two people, one of whom had autism, if Stevie’s mother was to be left behind.

This is just a guess, but if you have your own story ideas, please let us know in the comments box below.

When could I Used To Be Famous 2 be released?

If the director and cast are available to work on a sequel, it may be released the following year. But as previously mentioned, Netflix employees also have the final say. The streaming giant is more likely to hasten the creation of a sequel if the film is a hit.

I was once famous plot synopsis

I Used to Be Famous is about Vince, a former boy band member going through tough times, and Stevie, a young man with autism who is a good drummer.

When Vince sees how talented Stevie is, he befriends him and forms a band with him. When Vince is asked to tour with a successful former bandmate, he must choose between leaving Stevie behind for a second chance at fame, or supporting Stevie and maintaining their friendship.

So is Vince choosing to be famous over being friends? Let’s pay more attention to the film.

How did Vince and Stevie meet?

Vince’s music career ended when his boy band broke up, unlike that of his famous bandmate Austin. Vince is now playing music on the street to make money, but no one seems to like him or his music.

His luck changes when Stevie sits next to him on a bench and they make music together. Stevie uses the bench as drums and it’s clear he has drumming skills.

Because of Stevie, many people flock to her and use their cellphones to film the two musicians. Amber, Stevie’s mother, shows up and pulls him away, but Vince sees Stevie again when he sees him and his mother walking into a parish hall.

This is where he sees Stevie’s music therapy group for the first time and gets a second chance to see just how talented the teenager is. Vince’s music teacher Dia asks him to join them and he does. They all play drums together.

Vince later finds out that the videos of him and Stevie performing on the bench have gone viral. He uses this to get a gig at a local pub, but he hasn’t asked Stevie to play with him yet, so his next step is to get the boy’s OK.

Will the gig take place?

Vince goes to Stevie and Amber’s house and asks them to have tea and jam with them. Stevie is excited about the performance after telling them about it, but Amber worries for her son’s safety and doesn’t want Stevie to play in front of a large audience.

Vince and Amber fight and Stevie has a panic attack over it. Amber is impressed that Vince can calm him down by re-enacting the drum session from the music therapy group. Because of this, she agrees to the job on a whim.

Then Stevie and Vince practice their performance and Vince learns more about Stevie, his love of music and his desire to go to college for music.

The day of the gig arrives and Vince and Stevie take the stage after another act is over. Everything is going well and they both do a great job, but when Vince sings one song too many, some people in the crowd get restless. One man is particularly rude, making fun of the pots and pans Stevie uses as drums.

Vince gets angry and punches the man back. He and Stevie are then kicked out of the pub. When Austin, who was invited to the gig by Vince, sees his former bandmate get up from the street, that awkward moment gets even more awkward.

Vince tells Austin to leave, then checks on Stevie to make sure he’s okay. Unfortunately, Amber is very angry and tells Vince never to go near her son again.

Is Vince Stevie staying away?

Vince is sad to find out he can’t see Stevie, so he goes back home.

We learn a little more about Vince’s past here. He shows home videos of himself and his younger brother Ted and we can see the band they formed as kids. Then we find out through flashbacks that Ted died and that Vince didn’t come to his brother’s bedside because he had to be with his band.

Vince still feels bad about what happened, so he goes to his mom to ask about his brother’s harmonica. She tearfully tells him she has no idea where it is.

Stevie makes flyers for her band, The Tin Men, and books them a gig.

Stevie calls Vince and tells him the good news, but Vince doesn’t think they should go through with it because Amber is feeling. Stevie, on the other hand, asks Vince in a matter-of-fact manner to apologize to Amber for what happened, which Vince does when he sees her outside of the church.

After he apologizes, Amber is a little more open about his relationship with her son and all three go to music therapy group. Here Vince is asked to take the lead of the group because it is clear he can bond with the other students.

Vince considers the offer, but when Austin calls him later, he has to make another choice.
