Podcast co-host Anne Heche mourns her death
Anne Heche “Better together” Co-host of the podcast, Heather Duffy, continues to analyze the loss of a “beautiful friend.”
On Wednesday, Duffy paid an emotional tribute to the 53-year-old actress who died from injuries in a car accident earlier this month.
“I had to take a moment to start processing the deep loss of my beautiful friend with the kindest soul I knew,” wrote Duffy Instagram next to a photo of two smiling people standing back to back.
“Anne was joyful despite all the challenges she faced in her life. She was truthful even though she was in the business that is made up. What mattered most to her was spreading love and kindness around the world, even if sometimes the world would not give her away. “
Duffy then commended her friend for the “bravery” and “sacrifice” it took for her to come out as bisexual in the late 1990s.
“Her public stance on equality has enabled many LGBTQ + people around the world to see a future in which they can live their truth that was more important to her than anything else,” she continued. “We’ve come a long way because of her truth, courage and kindness when she decided 25 years ago to bring a woman as her date for the premiere of The Volcano.”
The deceased actress shocked Hollywood when she brought her then-girlfriend Ellen DeGeneres to the premiere of the drama in 1997, after being warned that it could have a negative impact on her career.
The podcast host says she would like the media to be able to recognize how “Rough they are judged “her for standing up for what she believed in when she was still alive.
“She was way ahead and we are all just catching up. Go free, my friend. This world has never been meant for someone as beautiful as you, ”she concluded.
Duffy isn’t the only one on the couple’s podcast to speak since Heche’s tragic death. Last week, Ryan Tillotson, producer of the podcast, said the Emmy winner was “irreplaceable.”
“More than a beloved host, Anne was my friend, co-worker, and a damn good actress. Anne enlivened every room she entered with her amazing energy and friendly presence. ” wrote on Instagram next to the old photo of the star.
The actress “Courageous” never regained consciousness after “a severe brain injury due to hypoxia” in a fire car accident on August 5.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Heche was reportedly on cocaine when she drove her blue Mini Cooper to her apartment in Los Angeles.
Police investigation into the wreckage was stopped after her death. On Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner revealed that her official cause of death was smoke inhalation and thermal injuries she had suffered in the accident.
Heche survived Atlas’ 13-year-old son with Canadian actor James Tupper and 20-year-old son Homer with her ex-husband Coleman Laffoon.
