Pointing the finger among executives starts at Goldman Sachs
[ad_1]
Talk about shifting money.
With Goldman Sachs w pinch somethingit started pointing a finger between top executives – and, as you’d expect, it became unpleasant almost immediately.
The Wall Street giant announced this week it would cut jobs as wages slump – and even said it was taking free office coffee.
Some management fools say the company, led by CEO David Solomon, is too focused on bright “personal brand” managers rather than crushing on old-fashioned, hard work of enriching rich people with little effort.
Insiders seem to have a hard time seeing the fun side of Solomon’s own DJ career as DJ D-Sol now that the economy is in a bend.
Meanwhile, many complain about Solomon’s weakness for rock star bankers – Kim Posnett, for example, who has climbed the ranks in recent years and can often be seen speaking on panels, attending galas and giving interviews while …, man, ahem) Insiders say, many of her actual transactions have failed. (We should note that for all of its purported “personal branding” Posnett has it all about 1,500 followers on Instagramso Charli d’Amelio probably isn’t sweating yet).
According to the New York Times, the company reported a profit of $ 2.93 billion in the second quarter, almost half the profit in the same quarter last year. The investment department in which Posnett works – although we hasten to add, no just Posnett works – it was responsible for much of the slowdown, earning 41% less than the year before. (We would have been negligent if we had not noticed that the Goldman Sachs executive team is reportedly made up of about 80% male, so you’d think that the “know-it-all” number there would realize that if something is wrong, the raw data suggests that most likely it’s the guys’ fault.)
Some insiders are even making a fuss because Posnett spent most of the last week in a suite at the US Open as the company prepared to announce layoffs, instead of, say, at his desk, trying to make the balance look a little pinker for the next quarter. (But for the record, Page Six noted that between appearances at Arthur Ashe Stadium, between appearances at Arthur Ashe Stadium, there was a deal or two discounts of more than $ 15, so let’s not rule out a net gain from those games just yet).
A spokesman called the spikes “unfounded rumors.”
