Prince William, statement by Kate Middleton on the death of Queen Elizabeth
Prince William and Kate Middleton said goodbye to Queen Elizabeth II following the death of the 70-year-old monarch on Thursday 8 September. She was 96 years old.
“On Thursday, the world lost an extraordinary leader whose devotion to the country, kingdoms and the Commonwealth was absolute. So much will be said in the coming days about the importance of her historic reign, ”William said in A. statement issued via Twitter Saturday.

“She was with me in my happiest times. And she was with me in the saddest days of my life. I knew that day would come, but it will be a while before the reality of life without grandma really feels real, ”continued William’s statement.
“I thank her for the kindness she has shown my family and me. And I thank her on behalf of my generation for the example of service and dignity in public life, which was from a different age, but always concerned all of us. “
William concluded: “My grandmother said sadness is the price we pay for love. All the sadness we will feel in the coming weeks will be a testament to the love we felt for our extraordinary Queen. I honor her memory by supporting my father, the King, in all possible ways.
The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge, formerly known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, issued a statement of mourning after the royal family announced that Elizabeth had died at her Scottish vacation home.
“The Queen died this afternoon at Balmoral,” the royal family said in a statement. “The King and Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral tonight and return to London tomorrow.”

Prince Harry also rushed to be by his grandmother’s side while Meghan Markle stayed in the UK.
The Duke of Cambridge, 40, is now the first in line of succession to the British throne after his father, Prince Charles, immediately became king upon the queen’s death.
From the outset, the Queen expressed enormous support for the relationship between William and Middleton.

William and Middleton recently met the Queen in a public setting to celebrate her platinum anniversary in June.
