THE CONSEQUENCES

Kanan’s attempt to hide his connection there after the disaster was doomed to failure. Raquel would probably eventually learn that Kanan was present, especially after discovering his blood-stained clothes. I just didn’t expect Raq to learn the truth as the first event in Episode 5. It seems a little overwhelming for Raq to immediately learn everything about the attack on the secret house because it was such an exciting and memorable scene.

Thomas, Raquel “Raq”, Book of Power 3

However, Raq doesn’t really do anything with this information other than chiding Kanan and Marvin as she has done countless times before. Instead, she spends most of the episode preparing for the conflict with Unique, which has not yet begun. They would assume that attacking the secret house would be sufficient justification to start a war. But if Raq’s answer to that is going to be the same as his answer to Kanan’s notes, I guess that wasn’t a big deal.

ANGRY KANAN

Unlike his mother, Kanan is interested in knowing who informed Unique about the secret house. Davina is surprisingly absent from this episode, despite being the real culprit. Jukebox claims it could actually be Davina, but Kanan vehemently refutes the idea. Although I’m not really sure how Jukebox figured it out, whatever. As a result, Kanan embarks on a gruesome mission to take care of Scrappy, who he mistakes for Unique’s rat.

Mekai Curtis deserves more credit than I think I’ve given him. His portrayal of the character isn’t at all as impressive as his castmates’ or even 50 Cent’s. However, Curtis gives a quiet performance and frequently hits the basket. This episode is no exception as he skillfully captures Kanan’s escalating anger following their near-fatal encounter.

Episode 5 of Kanan Stark

The portrayal of Kanan’s anger in this episode feels like a crucial first step towards his power development. What was the point of the series if Kanan didn’t end up feeling like his mature counterpart? So I’m glad to see that this episode is proactively moving in that direction.

THE HIGHS AND LOWS OF THE JUKEBOX

Lou-Lou keeps his word to Jukebox and grants her access to Crown’s recording studio. I haven’t talked much about local music producer Crown. But that’s only because I often forget it even exists, so let’s walk past it now.

It was good to see Jukebox demonstrate her vocal skills and performance herself. Week after week, Hailey Kilgore proves that she is easily the best actress on the show. Nowhere was this more evident than in what was probably Jukebox’s final appearance at Nicole’s house. When Nicole’s mother sees her daughter kiss Jukebox, she promptly throws Nicole out of the house. I’m so sorry to see her fail so miserably after her triumph in the recording studio. And Kilgore skillfully sells this by portraying the emotional agony her character feels after suffering her first real heartbreak.

I wonder how much of Nicole we will see in the future. While she and he had a beautiful relationship, she didn’t really have much personality beyond that. However, they could try to keep their romance alive. However, it’s also possible that this will lead Jukebox down a dangerous path that will be difficult to recover from.

“(Hailey) Kilgore) sells this perfectly and shows the character’s inner desolation after suffering her first true heartbreak.”

This episode pleasantly surprised me in that I really liked Symphony. I suggested that having Kanan in his class might be a positive step for his character, and so far my prediction has come true. Symphony becomes a lot more interesting when he can discuss topics other than concrete or whatever and really influence the story. Additionally, their newfound father-son relationship is endearing, especially given that Kanan doesn’t have any other possible father figures at all.

Symphony Bosket, Raising Kanan

Now that we’re no longer lying to you, let’s talk about Detective Malcolm Howard. Malcolm has something to do thanks to this episode after being away for the past week. Malcolm and his partner bring Kanan and Scrappy in for questioning after witnessing their altercation. He learns something unexpected when he tries to ask Kanan for information about Raq’s operation: Malcolm is actually Kanan’s biological father.

Although it was hinted that Raquel and Malcolm had a history together, I had no idea it would be this. Why would Raq keep this information a secret from Malcolm and Kanan? Will Malcolm be honest with Kanan? Kanan would likely be able to save Malcolm’s life as he increasingly needed a suitable donor. He therefore has every reason to inform the child.

POWER BOOK III: RAISING KANAN: EPISODE 5 REVIEW

Episode 5 of Power Book III: Raising Kanan was a well-acted experience that serves as a deserved mid-season finale, albeit somewhat lacking compared to last week’s episode. The cliffhangers in this program are always exciting and the pace improves. Season has five more episodes. Let’s hope it doesn’t mess up the track.

By the way, there won’t be a new episode next week; Episode 6 will air instead. If you haven’t already, read our review of the previous episode, Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Also, check out our ongoing analyzes of Raising Kanan’s characters such as: B. those of Davina and Marvin.
