Sonja Morgan is finally saying goodbye to her luxury New York townhouse – after it was sold to the highest bidder for half the purchase price.

The “Real Housewives of New York” alum’s Upper East Side mansion sold for $4.45 million after a two-week online auction ended Wednesday. The case was reported by the New York Post..

Morgan, 60, bought the house in 1998 with her husband, JP Morgan heir John Morgan, for $9.1 million. After a nasty divorce in 2013, she valued it at a cool $9.95 million.

But the house, located at 162 E. 63rd St., had difficulty finding a buyer and languished on and off the market for years. In 2015, the reality star lowered the price to $7.2 million, according to The Post. When no one took it over, she decided to put it up for rent in 2018 for $32,000 a month.

Last summer, Morgan renovated the opulent home and put it back on the market for $8.75 million. She later lowered the price to $7.5 million.

The 4,650 square foot townhouse has 5 bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms and one half bath. Some of its notable features include custom millwork, vintage PE Guerin hardware, and a stunning solarium that opens onto a 35-foot private garden with a fountain and koi pond.

“Many memories have been made over the years, including hosting my daughter’s friends from boarding school and university, and many noteworthy moments have been filmed by NBC for Bravo and Peacock TV,” Morgan said in an April statement to the New York Post. Concierge Auctions

“This townhouse has been our beloved home for decades,” Morgan told The Post after the auction was announced in April. “In addition to raising my daughter here, we have hosted heads of state, royalty, Fortune 500 luminaries and CEOs.”
