RHONY’s Bethenny Frankel Sues TikTok Over Fake Ads

Bethenny Frankel wants to sue TikTok.

The The Real Housewives of New York The alum is suing TikTok over ads that allegedly used her image and likeness to sell counterfeit products with her permission, according to court documents filed Oct. 6 and received by E! News.

In the class-action lawsuit, Frankel claims her “reputation and brand” were “damaged and tarnished” by the unauthorized marketing. She said her demands for TikTok to remove such ads were ignored by the social media platform.

According to the lawsuit: “In one instance, when Ms. Frankel posted a video warning consumers about the unauthorized and illegal use of her identity to sell counterfeit goods — with the intention of alerting consumers to the scam — TikTok, ironically, removed Ms. Frankel’s content. as “offensive”.

E! News reached out to TikTok for comment, but did not receive a response.

In a press release from her law firm, obtained by E! News, Frankel said she learned that the issue of alleged image and likeness abuse is a “widespread problem affecting creators of all sizes around the world,” so she also filed a lawsuit on behalf of other content creators.
