“RHOP” star Ashley Darby responds to allegations from colorists

Ashley Darby denies claims to be a “colorist” after her explosive feud with Real Housewives of Potomac star Candiace Dillard on Sunday’s episode.

“So, I really hate that I have to say something about it and that I have to deal with it, but it seems like it just got out of hand,” she told Instagram Stories on Monday.

“First of all, I am not a colorist. I know everyone wants to look after me like that. They want to make all these accusations about me because of my skin tone, but I’m not saying that because it’s not me.”

Darby, 34, noted that she disagreed with several of her other castmates – including Robyn Dixon and Gizelle Bryant – and did not take into account the “tint” of someone’s skin color.

“I always start with a hundred until you give me a reason to take it off,” she continued.

“That’s all that happened. I still care about the women on this show, and I hope everyone – including them – knows that nothing I ever feel for you is because of your skin color.”

Darby’s comments come a day after the latest episode of the reality show aired on Bravo, showing a fierce verbal battle between the 35-year-old Dillard and the mother-of-two.

In this scene, Darby claimed that Dillard’s husband Chris Bassett was “in a few other DMs” with women and “flirted” with one of her friends at a recent event.

Dillard claimed that Ashley’s husband, Michael, from whom she is divorcing, left her to have sex with another man.

After the episode aired, viewers criticized Darby on social media for her actions.

One fan tweeted: “@_AshleyDarby is not a colorist in the same way that racists are not racist. Your beef with your skin twins is running out. Your beef with dark skinned women will last forever.

The other chimed in and said, “Ashley Darby is a colorist because she didn’t give Wendy the same opportunity for friendship that she gave the thugs, even when they had problems. Ashley Darby NEVER hid room information on a tour, but Candiace did. Ashley literally treats them differently!!”
