On Wednesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said it was a “sad day for democracy” after the government passes the bill. Recently, the National Capital Territory of Delhi Amendment Bill GNCTD, 2021 passed to rule the entire capital. After the bill pass then the power to rule Delhi is more to the lieutenant governor of Delhi. After the bill passed by government then Kejriwal tweeted from his official Twitter account. Apart from this, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also said that it was a Dark Day and explained about the changes happened due to the bill. If we talk about the tweet that Kejriwal shared then it is “RS [Rajya Sabha] passes GNCTD [Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi] amendment Bill. Sad day for Indian democracy”. He further said that “We will continue our struggle to restore power back to people. Whatever be the obstacles, we will continue doing good work. Work will neither stop nor slow down”. On the other hand, Manish Sisodia tweet that “The rights of the government elected by the people of Delhi have been taken away and handed over to LG”.
Kejriwal Tweet After Rajya Sabha Passes Amendment Bill
The complete tweet by Manish Sisodia that he shared in his Twitter account was “Look at the irony, the Parliament was used to assassinate democracy which is called the temple of our democracy. People of Delhi will fight against this dictatorship #BJPFearsKejriwal”. When the bill passed then MPs opposing the bill in which Congress’ Mallikarjun Kharge also leaves the place just after the voting. The bill was passed in Lok Sabha on Monday. Also, just after that the protest from the Congress and the Aam Admi Party start to change the bill.
The only motive to issued the bill is to give all the rights in the hand of lieutenant governor of Delhi.
