Sarah Ferguson has been spotted for the first time since the death of her former mother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II, last week.

The Duchess of York joined her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, on Friday to see floral tributes to the late Queen in front of Windsor Castle.

Fergie, as she is affectionately known, praised her late ex-mother-in-law on Twitter earlier this week.

“I am devastated by the death of Her Majesty. It leaves an extraordinary legacy: the most fantastic example of duty, service and steadfastness, and a constant, stable presence as our head of state for over 70 years, ”she wrote.

“She gave her whole life selflessly to the citizens of Great Britain and the Commonwealth of Nations,” she continued. “For me, she was the most amazing mother-in-law and friend. I will always be grateful to her for the generosity she showed me by staying close to me even after my divorce.

“I will miss her more than words can express,” concluded the Duchess sadly.

Ferguson, 62, married the Queen’s second son in 1986 and they have two daughters, Princess Beatrice, 34, and Princess Eugenie, 32. The couple announced their separation in 1992 amid a scandal when they were photographed with her toes being sucked off by American businessman John Bryan, who was nicknamed her “financial advisor.”

The couple finalized their divorce in 1996.

Despite the divorce, the couple remained very close and even lived in the same house.

She was also the steadfast defender of her ex who was forced to resign from royal life after a disastrous 2019 interview with the BBC in which he defended his friendship with the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Earlier this year, he settled the lawsuit against Virginia Giuffrewho claimed she was forced to have sex with a prince three times when she was 17. He still denies any wrongdoing.

Ferguson described her husband as “such a nice, wonderful man” and said her wedding day was the happiest day of her life because “I married the best man in the world”.

The Duchess reportedly approached the Queen after Death of Prince Philip who famously hated his ex-daughter-in-law.

“The Duchess became involved with Her Majesty for dog walking and horse riding, and even after divorcing, she continued her great friendship with Her Majesty by walking the dogs in Frogmore and talking,” a source told The Telegraph.

Last summer, she was invited to spend time at Balmoral Castle after many years of exile.

She and her ex-husband adopted the Queen’s four surviving dogs.
